The Dometic RMS 10.5P wheel arch absorption fridge fits over the wheel arch of your motorhome or caravan, making use of space that's often wasted. It's a 3-way fridge running on 12V, 230V or LPG gas, with automatic energy selection that switches between power sources to keep your food and drinks cold wherever you're pitched. The 83-litre capacity includes a removable freezer compartment, two slim crispers for fresh produce, and the double-hinged door opens left or right using full-height aluminium handles. The LED control panel lets you monitor the cooling temperature and selected energy source.

How does the RMS 10.5P differ from the RMS 105T?

The RMS 10.5P features an LED control panel with MODE, MAX, MID and MIN buttons, whilst the RMS 105T uses a TFT colour display with push-turn control. Both wheel arch models share the same 83-litre capacity, 548mm depth, 821mm height and double-hinged door design. All other specifications including the 135W mains input, 270g/24h gas consumption and absorption cooling technology remain identical between the two versions.

This fridge runs completely silent thanks to absorption cooling technology, with no compressor noise to disrupt sleep. The Smart CI-BUS system lets it communicate with compatible control panels in modern motorhomes and caravans. The interior LED lighting makes finding items easy at night, whilst the two-point door locking system keeps everything secure when you're travelling. You'll find the freezer section opens to the bottom, and if you need maximum fridge space, simply remove the freezer compartment and rearrange the shelves. The unit fits within a 523mm width and requires proper ventilation with external vents for safe gas operation - all gas connections must be fitted by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

This wheel arch model fridge takes advantage of what is normally wasted space. The beautiful under counter absorption fridge comes with many popular 10-series features: a double-hinged door that opens left and right, latest generation TFT controls, and a versatile interior that adapts to your needs.

SMART CI-BUS TECHNOLOGY
Smart fridges can now be found in recreational vehicles! Thanks to Advanced CI-bus technology, the leap from the smart home to your motorhome is possible. Dometic have been part of creating the new digital industry standard, enabling camping and caravanning friends to operate all comfort devices, such as the fridge, with absolute convenience via their central control unit. This innovation is yet another example of how we are delivering on our mission to make mobile living easy.

UNIQUE BENEFIT: THE DOUBLE-HINGED DOOR
The 10-series absorption refrigerators offer a unique benefit: the double-hinged door. Thanks to this patented solution, they can be opened to the left and right as required, without the need to change the hinge. Simply use one of the two convenient and elegant aluminium handles, which extend over the full height of the fridge. The intuitive door handle extends across the entire height of the refrigerator and enables easy opening at any height. A two-point locking system keeps the door securely in place at all times. A new and elegantly designed TFT display ensures optimal readability of refrigerator settings and is easily controlled with an ergonomic knob.

BEST-IN-CLASS COOLING PERFORMANCE
The Dometic 10-series absorption refrigerators are best in their class for cooling performance. They guarantee reliable cooling and deep-freezing in low and high ambient temperatures. So you can have confidence in the quality and condition of your travel provisions, wherever the road takes you! Powered by advanced technology, the new cooling unit was tested in the extreme heat of the Australian desert and maintained its superb performance. It's a powerful and thoughtfully-designed refrigerator you can trust.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the RMS 10.5P and RMS 105T control panels?
The RMS 10.5P uses an LED control panel with MODE, MAX, MID and MIN button controls, whilst the RMS 105T features a TFT colour display with a push-turn control knob. Both systems let you monitor cooling temperature and power source selection. All other specifications including capacity, dimensions and cooling performance are identical between the two models.
Does the RMS 10.5P require Gas Safe installation?
All gas connections on the RMS 10.5P must be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer. The fridge must be room-sealed from the interior with top and bottom ventilation grilles, and the flue gases vented through the vehicle wall to outside. Failure to use a qualified gas fitter will invalidate the manufacturer's warranty and could create serious safety hazards from carbon monoxide.
Can the RMS 10.5P run on 12V whilst driving?
The RMS 10.5P can run on 12V power when travelling, though this mode is designed primarily to maintain an already-cold fridge rather than initial cooling. The 12V heating element draws approximately 14 amps and is less powerful than gas or 230V operation. For best results, pre-cool the fridge on gas or mains before setting off, then switch to 12V to maintain temperature whilst driving.
What models does the Dometic RMS 10.5P replace?
The RMS 10.5P replaces several older Dometic and Thetford wheel arch models including the Dometic RM300P/A, RM301, RM4290L, RM4300, RM6291, RM7290L, RM7291L and RMS850 series. It also replaces Thetford models N901P, N902E, N3090A, N3090E, N4090A, N4100A, N4100E+, N3097A, N3097E, N4097A and N4097E. Check dimensions carefully as measurements may vary slightly between old and new models.
How level does the RMS 10.5P need to be for efficient operation?
Absorption fridges like the RMS 10.5P require the vehicle to be reasonably level for the refrigerant to flow properly through the sealed cooling system. Prolonged operation on severe slopes can reduce cooling efficiency and potentially damage the cooling unit over time. When wild camping or on uneven pitches, use levelling ramps to get your motorhome or caravan as close to level as possible before relying on the fridge for extended periods.
How much gas does the RMS 10.5P consume?
The RMS 10.5P consumes 270 grams of LPG per 24 hours when running on gas at 30 mbar pressure. This works out to approximately 9-10 days of continuous operation from a standard 6kg Calor gas bottle, though actual consumption varies with ambient temperature and how often the door is opened. Gas operation is the most efficient power source for off-grid camping, using minimal 12V power for just the control board and interior light.
Does the double-hinged door need any adjustment to open left or right?
The RMS 10.5P features a factory-fitted double-hinged door that opens both left and right without any adjustment or modification required. The full-height aluminium handles are fitted on both sides, allowing you to pull the door open from either direction depending on your kitchen layout. This makes installation more flexible as you don't need to specify handing when ordering, unlike older single-hinge fridge models.
What ventilation requirements does the RMS 10.5P need?
The RMS 10.5P requires top and bottom external ventilation grilles to allow airflow across the cooling pipes at the rear of the unit. The ventilation passage must be sealed from the living space to prevent flue gases entering the habitation area and to maintain cooling efficiency. Adequate clearance behind the fridge is essential - too little restricts airflow, whilst excessive cavity depth can allow warm air to cool and fall back down before exiting through the top vent.
