  Product Description
The CBE PC 380 Complete System brings professional-grade power management to motorhomes and caravans through its microprocessor-controlled design. This isn't a basic control panel. It monitors both your starter and leisure batteries in real time, displaying voltage levels and charge status on a 12-colour graphic LCD screen. The system manages everything from your water pump and lighting circuits to fridge operation and battery charging, all through a compact 190x130mm control panel that fits standard dashboard locations. The built-in twilight sensor automatically adjusts display brightness, and you can update the software via USB when CBE releases improvements.

What sets this system apart is the complete integration it provides. The kit includes a 16-amp switch mode battery charger that efficiently charges your leisure batteries from mains hookup, a 12V distribution box with 15 protected fuse positions and integrated ammeter, plus all necessary wiring with 6-metre cables for the control panel. The electronic battery separator prevents your leisure battery drawing down your starter battery, whilst the intelligent charging system protects against overcharging. You get monitoring for fresh water levels, waste water tank alerts, and both internal and external temperature readings. The three-way fridge control optimises performance based on available power sources.

Installation requires some electrical knowledge, particularly for the mains side which includes a 25-amp RCD and two 13-amp MCBs for safety compliance. One thing to note is the fresh water probe isn't included in the kit, so budget separately for that if you want full tank monitoring. What is the electronic battery separator function on the PC 380?
The electronic battery separator is an intelligent relay system that automatically connects your starter battery to the leisure battery when the engine is running and charging voltage is detected. This allows your alternator to charge both battery banks whilst driving. When the engine stops, the separator disconnects the batteries so leisure loads like lights, water pumps and fridges cannot drain the starter battery. This prevents the common problem of flat starter batteries after extended wild camping.
How does the three-way fridge control work with the CBE PC 380?
The PC 380 manages three-way absorption fridges that run on 12V DC, 230V mains or LPG gas. The system automatically switches between power sources based on availability and battery condition. When connected to mains hookup, it prioritises 230V operation for efficiency. Whilst driving, it switches to 12V from the alternator. The control prevents 12V operation when stationary to protect leisure batteries from excessive drain. You retain manual override for gas operation when off-grid without mains or sufficient battery capacity.
What does the save service battery function do on the PC 380 system?
The save service battery function monitors leisure battery voltage continuously and automatically disconnects non-essential loads when voltage drops below a preset threshold, typically around 11.5V for a 12V battery. This prevents deep discharge that damages leisure batteries and shortens their lifespan. The system maintains power to critical circuits whilst protecting battery health. You can see the battery status on the colour LCD display showing both voltage readings and graphical charge indicators.
Why doesn't the CBE PC 380 kit include the fresh water tank probe?
Fresh water tanks vary significantly in size, shape and mounting location across different motorhome and caravan models. CBE supplies waste water probes as standard because these tanks have more consistent designs, but fresh water tank sensors need specific probe lengths to match individual tank depths. You need to measure your fresh water tank depth and order the appropriate CBE probe separately. The PC 380 system has the inputs ready for connection once you fit the correct probe for your vehicle.
Can I update the CBE PC 380 software and what improvements does this provide?
The PC 380 features a USB port for firmware updates released by CBE. These updates can improve system reliability, add compatibility with newer components, refine battery charging algorithms and fix any bugs discovered after manufacture. You download update files from CBE's technical support area, copy them to a USB stick, and the control panel walks through the installation process. This future-proofs your system against becoming outdated as electrical standards and battery technologies evolve.
