The new Thetford 525 Oven with grill is made to match the 525 mm wide refrigerators and completes your kitchen. Following the trend to use space as efficiently as possible, Thetford developed the 525 Oven to perfectly match the standard 525 mm wide refrigerators. “We all know the under-utilised spot above the fridge. The 420 Oven proved the relevance of using this space. With the 525 Oven we complete our portfolio and give all situations, for both 420 and 525 wide refrigerators the possibility to turn this spot into a functional space” says Dirk Valder, Manager Product Management RV/ OEM International of Thetford. The 525 Oven has quite some interesting features like a smart fan system and removable fascia.

Thetford 525 Smart fan system
The Thetford 525 Oven can be installed as a stand-alone oven, but is designed to be installed on top of the 525 mm wide refrigerator. Therefore this oven is equipped with a new smart fan system to prevent overheating of the surrounding cabinet and ceiling in high level installations above the fridge. The twin fan cooling system channels the air above the oven keeping things cool outside the oven. The fans automatically switch on once the oven reaches a certain temperature. Built-in overheat switches on both grill and oven functions ensures double safe protection. With a top-hinged door the 525 Oven’s door directly serves as a heat shield for hot air reaching the ceiling, and makes for much easier access to the food being cooked. When using the grill you keep the oven door open, the door serving as a heat shield.

Convenient cooking
The Thetford 525 oven is an oven with grill, giving lots of cooking opportunities. The inside cavity has rounded corners, facilitating easy cleaning. Having a full door seal and efficient burner design, the oven has an optimised temperature spread and fast pre-heating period. Of course, the oven shelf is provided with an anti-rattle solution to keep the noise from the oven as quiet as possible while driving your camper or caravan.

Great serviceability
Not only was consumer convenience and safety taken into account, but also the convenience for dealers and OEMs. The 525 Oven can be installed either flush or protruding. The 525 Oven can be positioned both above the 525 mm wide refrigerators and stand alone. A unique feature of the 525 Oven, like the 420 Oven, is its serviceability. While the oven requires little servicing, should an issue occur the fascia can easily be removed to get access to the serviceable parts.

What is the maximum pan size?
Please use the correct recommended sizes of pans and position them centrally over the burners. Do not allow cooking vessels to overlap the edges of the appliance. Please refer to your user manual.
How do I identify my appliance?

What happens if the oven/grill doesn't work?
If burner has not lit within 15 seconds, release knob and wait at least 1 minute before repeating operation. If it still fails to ignite, contact your dealer.
What can I do when the bump-stop is melting?

Why do I need to keep the door open for grilling?
The grill burner works efficiently with the correct circulation of gas and ambient air. Closing the door prevents the circulation of this air and can result in dangerous products of combustion.
What are the requirements for installing the cooker?
The cooker should be installaed as per the manufactures recommended installation instructions and should only be installed by competent qualified persons. Local laws should be adhered to when installing gas appliances.
Why do the knobs fall off?
There may be a flat metal retaining clip that has broken from the knob. Please contact your dealer who can replace under warranty or supply this if the appliance is outside the 3 year warranty.
What type of gas do I need?
The appliance is manufactured to be used with LPG at the correct operating pressure as outlined on your data label.
What can I do when the flame goes off after igniting the oven?
If the burner has not lit within 15 seconds, release the knob and wait at least 1 minute before repeating the operation. If it still fails to ignite contact your dealer.
Why is the cooking appliance too hot to touch?
The appliance is manufactured to heat food and as a result certain areas will become hot. Touchable surfaces like knobs and handles should remain within a safe touchable temperature. If you are concerned about these temperatures, please contact your dealer who can measure the temperatures to ensure they are correct.
My grill doesn't appear to light in the middle.
It shouldn’t. This is the design to promote even cooking.
My grill pan handle gets hot, what can I do?
The handle is detachable. It should be removed whilst the grill is in use.
Can I change my current pan rests into cast iron pan rests?
We do not recommend modifying the appliance in anyway this includes changing the pan rests and shelves.
Is it possible to make my burners more powerful?
We do not recommend modifying the appliance in anyway.

How can I clean my cooking appliance (stainless Steel)?
Always remove any spills or contamination immediately after use with soap and hot water. Towel dry the surface with a soft cloth. Use a non-abrasive multi-purpose cream cleaner and a nylon scourer pad to clean more stubborn dirt or grease. Use a proprietary stainless steel cleaner or polish to remove superficial surface scratching.
How can I clean my cooking appliance (the glass (lid))?
Always remove any spills or contamination immediately after use with soap and hot water. Towel dry the surface with a soft cloth. Use a special glass cleanerto clean more stubborn dirt or grease.

Better Than Many But Not Perfect.

I bought this oven to replace one fitted as part of a “UK pack” in my Rapido motorhome The oven is located above the fridge/freezer and on the original oven the door hinges at the bottom making it impossible to load things in and out safely, and the oven never got hot enough nor was the the grill at all even. So this oven from Thetford answers all those problems; the door hinges at the top, the grill is even and quick and the oven gets and stays hot. As for criticisms the construction is a bit flimsy probably to keep the weight as low as possible and the bits at the back, wires and tubing etc, are very untidy. Most buyers probably won’t see all that as their dealer will install it for them. I did have a problem with the first oven delivered as the spark ignition was faulty but it was replaced rapidly and efficiently. The replacement oven works fine. So all in all I would recommend this oven, it looks good above my black Dometic fridge and is a huge improvement on the original Rapido one.
