5 Technical Questions on the Truma Ultraheat PCB (Printed Circuit Board)

Question

Hi we have a 2006 Sterling Eccles Amethyst and are having problems with the truma electric space heater I have already replaced the fan speed switch which initially worked but now the electric heating side will not operate (the green light on the temperature panel will not light ) the unit all works fine on gas.
 on

Answer

It is probably a problem with the printed circuit board which controls the electric heating. This is our ref. 233335. You may wish to take your caravan to an Approved Workshop to check that the PCB is the problem. The PCB is situated behind the fire at floor level.

Question

my blown air heating only works on the 500 setting not working on 1000 or 2000
 on

Answer

It would appear that the relays on the circuit board have failed. It is probable that you will need to replace the circuit board. Our ref. 133335.

Question

I have a Truma ultraheat fire in my Lunar caravan It only works on the highest settings which gets to hot, when turned down it goes off and the van gets cold and has to be turned high again
 on

Answer

There appears to be a problem with the printed circuit board which will need to be replaced. our ref. 133335.

Question

Tom, My Trumatic Ultraheat which operates the blown air and convector heating does not generate much heat no noticeable difference 500/1000/2000 settings fan ok, seems ok on gas.
 on

Answer

This could be a problem with the wall switch but more likely to be a problem with the printed circuit board, our ref 133335. This circuit board switches between the different heat settings on demand from the wall switch.

Question

I have a trumatic gas/electric heater which when used on electric, heats up for about 1/2 an hour or so and then cuts out. The heat it gives out during this time is minimal and seems to be coming mostly from the right hand side (as you face the heater). All the necessary lights come on but it doesn't produce much heat.
 on

Answer

This would appear to be a problem with the printed circuit board, our part 133335. This would be the first item to replace if we had the vehicle in our workshop.

Worked A Treat!

The space heater in our van seemed to have died a death, but thankfully an engineer tested some of the parts and suggested trying a new PCB. We purchased this one, replaced it in position, and we now have a lovely warm van again! :)

We bought the board PCB ultraheat to replace the one we blew up on holiday in our caravan. It arrived well packaged in an anti static sleeve and worked when it was fitted. Now our heating works again which is good.

Just The Job

PCB for Truma Ultraheat Bit fiddly to fit partly because of the location in our caravan (tucked away in the bottom of the wardrobe) and the fragile nature of the cable clips ( be careful and use a small screwdriver to open them up but once in - job done - electric heater working again after a year out. Marvellous
