  Product Description
The Dometic AC MWAO brings three kitchen appliances into one 20L built-in unit designed specifically for motorhomes and caravans. This combination microwave, air fryer and electric oven replaces separate countertop appliances, freeing up workspace in compact leisure vehicle kitchens. Operating at 1500W from a standard 240V hook-up, it fits into a 473mm x 382mm x 377mm cutout with ventilation clearances of 20mm on sides and rear, plus 30mm above. The unit weighs 14.9kg and includes eight automatic cooking menus, five power levels, defrost function and a child lock.

Looking for the perfect air fryer for your camper kitchen? This 3-in-1 combo is a clever choice. It integrates an air fryer, a grill oven and a microwave in a single, compact device. Engineered, tested and approved for use in motorhomes, and packed with practical functions. Air frying, baking, grilling, defrosting, reheating, auto cooking with pre-programmed recipes … it’s all as easy as pie.

How does a 3-in-1 air fryer microwave save space in motorhomes?

The AC MWAO combines microwave, air fryer and oven functions in a single 453mm x 362mm x 347mm built-in unit, eliminating the need for three separate appliances. The 20L cavity with 245mm turntable accommodates family-sized portions whilst the integrated design replaces gas ovens or frees up worktop space previously occupied by portable air fryers and microwaves, typical space-saving solutions for caravanning.

Built-in installation suits motorhome and caravan kitchen redesigns, with the unit mounting via four fixing points underneath furniture. The combi cooking function lets you combine microwave and grill modes simultaneously, reducing cooking times compared to using functions separately. Express cook provides quick microwave starts from standby, whilst the keep warm function maintains food temperature without continued cooking. The thermal insulation helps retain heat whilst parked up between mealtimes.

Motorhome owners switching from gas ovens gain air frying capability for healthier cooking with reduced oil usage. The eight automatic menus simplify operation, whilst ten microwave power levels provide control from gentle defrosting through to full 1500W air fry power. The reheat function adjusts automatically based on food weight, and the 245mm glass turntable rotates for even heating during microwave and combination cooking modes. All functions operate from mains hook-up, with the digital control panel featuring clock, timer and child safety lock.

Frequently Asked Questions

What cutout dimensions are required for installing the Dometic AC MWAO?
The minimum furniture cutout dimensions are 473mm wide x 382mm high x 377mm deep. You'll need ventilation clearances of at least 20mm on both sides and the rear, plus 30mm clearance above the unit. The appliance measures 453mm x 362mm x 347mm externally and mounts via four fixing points underneath to secure it to your furniture base during travel.
Can the AC MWAO run on a standard campsite 16A hook-up?
Yes, the AC MWAO operates at 1500W maximum power, drawing approximately 6.25A from a 240V supply when running at full air fry power. This sits comfortably within a 16A campsite hook-up's 3680W capacity. On 10A European hook-ups you'll need to manage other appliances whilst using air fry or oven functions, though microwave functions at lower power levels draw less current.
How does the combi cooking function work on this 3-in-1 appliance?
Combi cooking combines grill and microwave functions simultaneously to cook food faster than using either mode separately. This feature browns and crisps food surfaces whilst the microwave energy cooks the interior, reducing overall cooking times. It's particularly effective for jacket potatoes, grilled meats and baked dishes where you want both cooked-through interiors and appetising golden surfaces.
Is the 20L capacity sufficient for family meals in a motorhome?
The 20L cavity with 245mm turntable diameter accommodates dinner plates up to 24cm and standard family-sized dishes. This capacity suits couples and families of 3-4 people for typical motorhome meals. You can prepare whole chickens, pizza up to 23cm diameter, jacket potatoes for four people, and standard ready meals. For larger groups or batch cooking, you'll need to cook in multiple batches.
Does the AC MWAO replace a traditional gas oven in caravans?
Many motorhome owners install the AC MWAO to replace underused gas ovens, gaining three cooking functions instead of one whilst requiring only mains hook-up. The air fryer function replicates oven roasting and baking, the microwave handles reheating and defrosting, and the oven mode with grill provides traditional cooking capability. You'll lose the ability to cook when off-grid without generator or substantial inverter setup, but gain more versatile cooking options when on hook-up.
What are the eight automatic cooking menus on the Dometic AC MWAO?
The eight automatic menus are pre-programmed settings that adjust cooking time, power and mode based on food type. Whilst the specific menu items aren't detailed in all specifications, typical automatic functions on combination appliances include options for pizza, chicken, vegetables, fish, potatoes, frozen meals, beverages and popcorn. You simply select the menu number and the appliance calculates appropriate cooking parameters.
How do you secure the AC MWAO during travel to prevent damage?
The AC MWAO mounts via four fixing points underneath the unit that bolt through to your furniture base, securing the 14.9kg appliance during transit. This built-in installation method prevents movement during travel, unlike countertop microwaves that require separate securing systems. Remove the glass turntable before travelling or wrap it in a tea towel to prevent rattling and potential breakage from vibration on rough roads.
Can the Dometic AC MWAO operate off-grid with an inverter?
Off-grid operation requires a pure sine wave inverter rated at minimum 2000W to handle the 1500W appliance plus surge power. You'll need substantial lithium battery capacity of 300Ah minimum, as the unit draws approximately 125A from 12V batteries when running at full power. Microwave functions at lower power levels consume less, but air fry and oven modes at 1500W drain batteries rapidly. Most motorhome owners reserve this appliance for hook-up use only.
