The Crusader is a great addition to camping to help with all your electrical needs but it is a little large. But at least all the wire is kept tidily away inside the casing. The USB ports coming very handy when the kids and nagging you for their phones charging etc. On a negative note the torch only lasted one day but I would still recommend this item for anyone who needs electrical supply when camping.

This works great, and the circuit breakers give peace of mind. The USB ports make this a must have with today’s portable tech. Love it
But why try and sell it with a torch? It doesn’t fit in the hole!! Not even close. The torch works great, and the main product works great, but the two do not belong together. I read other reviews saying the same and assumed it were people not accepting a snug fit... but really, there is no way in a million years that torch is fitting in that hole... still rated five stars because it’s a great product... the torch was incidental to my purchase.

Its large - very large - and pretty heavy too, so that may be an issue for some. It's ok for me as I have a van for camping and space isn't an issue. I was able to use a cooler box and a fan heater at night at the same time on this kit. The USB points are useful and charged our Apple products easily. Good not to have to bring plugs along for them. The only 2 annoying things were the blue plastic covers for the USB points don't have an attachment so have to be stored safely when you're using the unit, and the torch wouldn't move out of the box.
Lots Of Sockets For Standard Plugs And Phone Cables Along Wiht Safety Cutouts Make This A Great Choice For A Family.

Used this a on a couple of camping trips now. Nice solid hookup with the USB sockets being a nice advantage when the family has everything else plugged into the main sockets. Supprising how many phones etc end up plugged into this as any one time as well as the kettle, fan etc. I think it is worth the extra few pounds to get this one over a standard 3 gang one. Nice long lead and real in makes it neat to pack and unpack. If you are using this in a tent the waterproof rating and cut outs are a must. I don't think settling for cheap one without any cutouts is a good idea as a massive safety risk in the wet. I would highly reccomend this unit.

Pleased with this. Solid, well made and hand that you can switch it off on the rear. My torch is actually stuck and will not come out but I can't say I am too bothered as I was not looking for this feature. It is possibly larger than would be ideal.

First off it does what its says on the the box but:
1. It is heavier than I thought it would be.
2. The plastic/rubber covers on the USB ports are not fixed like the hinged plug socket covers so they would be easy to lose and I guess you would eventually get a build up of dirt inside the ports..
3. It appears there is a batch (see other reviews)of these with a dodgy torch fitted during assembly which is fractionally over sized which means you cant remove/slide it out. I got mine out by tapping it with a 22mm bit of copper pipe then filing the diameter of the torch down so it could be used as it should. (didnt take long.
4.It feels a bit cheap and made with cheap plastic.
5. The RCD trip switches are in a box on the rear which means the unit is best suited standing on its end as in the photo when in use.
But I dont regret buying it (yet) and

I got caravan extension lead envy from my friend who has one of companies earlier products (which is still going strong after a number of years of use which bodes well for my one). The reason being it can be wound up and it also has USB points on that are very useful in this day and age. Excellent extension lead.

This is the first time we've been camping and had electric hook up, turned out cheaper, anyhow, no problems at all , oh apart from rcd on the back, for to turn on, great product.

Works really well, life saver while camping as keeps all the kids gadgets well charge, and runs the cool box and an electric clip on light for night time - intend to buy the adaptor to use from normal socket too - well built and great knowing it's protected.
Only thing I couldn't do was remove the little torch it has - it seems stuck but no odds really as wasn't buying it for this feature.

Delighted with this product. Love the reel operation - works just like an extension lead.

I bought this to add to my camping gear. I had looked at a few different hook ups but I thought this would do our family best.
The long lead is perfect for in the tent as I can connect it in on with side of my tent. The USB ports mean I don't have to bring plugs for my charger. My cooler box was plugged in all day which was perfect.
My Best Buy so far with the extra LED torch too stored away nicely.

Love the product in itself. The length of the cord is great, no more worrying about if it will reach around the tent and then inside properly. The surge protection is standard requirement on most UK campsites now anyway, but its great to know you've got that extra safety feature. Having the USBs as well as three sockets lets you charge all your various devices without any other essentials getting unplugged then forgotten about (nothing worse than a hot cooler!)
The only negative for me personally is the weight of the unit, as I only use a car and need to squeeze all the camping essentials and 3 people in too. If I'd have realised this is 5-6 times (at least) heavier than a regular multiplug EHU, I probably wouldn't have bought it, but that's my fault for not checking properly beforehand.
In all, its a great product, which though I've thought about downgrading for a lighter item, I can't quite bring myself to do it :)

Performed well on a recent camping trip. One star was lost as USB leads are rather loose in the USB sockets, consequently leads can become disconnected even if slightly touched.

The USB sockets are really useful as most of our electronics charge via these and it frees the plugs up for other things. The cable packs away neatly and the torch (once you finally get it out) is really bright. It really is a handy little unit and not too heavy. The only negative I've found is that it's not completely stable as the bottom edges are rounded to match the top. Not a huge problem, just a little niggle.

This was used during our most recent camping trip. Its big, bulky and heavy, but incredibly safe to use. Twice during the holiday the RCD tripped as we had overloaded it by simultaneously running a fridge, kettle, and mobile phone, and also an extension cable with laptop, lamp and blow heater. We discovered that only the kettle and blow heater on at the exact same time tripped the breaker.

Brilliant product and I never had to unplug anything to charge/run all holiday. It meets all of your camping electric needs and the usb sockets are the stand out features. On plus side the brother in law was well jealous as he had a standard three plug unit ( he's a sparky as well!!!)
One minor point is it's quite bulky and a touch on heavy side so if your like me and go camping with literally every thing you own it's a bit of a squeeze getting in the car. But if your looking for camping hook ups I think it's the best one on the market.

Just what we needed for a recent camping trip in a pre-erected teepee. It provided the power for the fan heater when the outside temperature was near zero. The torch came in very handy when I tried using a kettle, the fan heater and a lamp at the same time. The built in circuit breaker does its job well.
My only niggle with this extension lead is the USB power sockets. They are not high-current sockets. My smartphone (Nokia) popped up a message saying I could do with a better charger and my tablet (Samsung) wouldn't charge at all.

Well worth the money paid. The normal ones are only for plugs and don't have the mobile phone charger slots. I have seen the old style for more money.
