  Product Description
The Outwell Arctic Chill 30 is a 30-litre portable compressor cool box engineered to chill or freeze contents anywhere between +20°C and -20°C, regardless of the outside temperature. It runs from a 230V mains supply or a 12V vehicle socket, with both a UK and EU plug adaptor included alongside a 250cm 12V cable and a 210cm 230V cable. Temperature is set on the front-mounted LED display or remotely through the free Outwell Bluetooth app for iOS and Android.

How does the Outwell Arctic Chill 30 perform compared to a thermoelectric cool box?


The Arctic Chill 30 uses a high-efficiency DC compressor to reach -20°C in any ambient temperature, whereas thermoelectric coolers only chill 17 to 20°C below the surrounding air. With a 28.6-litre useable volume, 12.1kg weight and 59 x 37 x 37cm footprint, it functions as a true fridge or freezer for caravans, motorhomes and campervans.

Build quality reflects its intended use on the road. The rugged plastic casing has a low-profile integrated handle with a tie-down attachment point, the lid is removable and reversible to open from the left or right, and the inner lining is waterproof with a drain plug for cleaning. A 40-degree anti-tilt function lets the unit operate on uneven pitches without cycling off, the inside light helps when the lid is opened in the dark, and a built-in 5V/1A USB charge port doubles as a phone charging point. A mesh dividing wall is supplied to separate fresh and frozen items inside the cabinet.

Undervoltage protection is built in to safeguard your vehicle starter battery, with three selectable cut-off levels (H, M and L) so you can match the setting to a car battery, leisure battery or portable power station. The Arctic Chill 30 supports a maximum static load of 125kg, allowing it to double as a low seat at the campsite. Typical users include weekend caravanners needing extra cold storage alongside the fitted fridge, motorhome owners running long touring trips, campervan converters fitting a stand-alone 12V fridge-freezer, and fishing or shooting parties wanting reliable cold storage in the boot.
