  Product Description
The Olpro Kinver 5.0 is a 5 man poled tent for families and groups of up to five who would like to choose how they sleep. Its darkened inner comes split into a 3 berth and a 2 berth section, and a detachable divider opens them into one large 5 berth bedroom, so the group sleeps in two rooms or one.

Fibre-glass roof poles and steel leg poles offer the frame its steadiness, and it pitches in around 25 minutes. Three doors, all with fly mesh, keep the living space bright and airy, and the windows have blinds for privacy when you want it. Three ventilation panels keep the air moving, a large canopy covers the room outside for cooking or sitting outside, and there is a cable entry point and a lantern hook.

The flysheet is OLTECH® REPRO 210T RPS, which Olpro makes mostly from recycled plastic bottles, 8 of them in each square metre, with a 5,000mm hydrostatic head over a sewn-in groundsheet which keeps bugs and draughts out. The tent is 590cm long, 300cm wide at the front and 360 cm at the rear, and 210cm high at the front. Pegs, light storm straps and guy lines, a repair kit and a large carrying bag come with it, at 22.6kg packed. Olpro makes a Kinver footprint groundsheet and carpet, available separately, and its Product Lifetime Warranty covers the tent as soon as you register it with Olpro inside 30 days of buying.

A young family who want room to grow pick the Orion, Olpro's 6 berth with the same mix of steel leg poles and fibreglass roof poles: pitch one of its two bedrooms while the children are small, and add the second as the family grows. The Kinver 5.0 is for a family or group of five who like to select how they sleep, in two rooms or one, with a large canopy for cooking and sitting outside.

Frequently Asked Questions

How big is the Olpro Kinver 5.0?
It measures 590cm long, 300cm wide at the front and 360cm at the back, and stands 210cm high at the front, 200cm in the middle and 185cm at the back. It weighs 22.6kg and packs to 79 x 31 x 31cm.
Should I choose the Kinver 5.0 or the Orion?
Choose the Kinver 5.0 for up to five people: a darkened inner in 3 and 2 berth sections or one 5 berth room, three doors and a large canopy, at 22.6kg. The Orion comes with two 3 berth bedrooms for three or six people, a roof skylight and a 550 x 240cm footprint, and weighs 18kg. Both use steel leg poles and fibreglass roof poles.
How long does the Kinver 5.0 take to pitch?
Olpro quotes about 25 minutes. The frame combines fibreglass roof poles with steel leg poles for stability, and Olpro has videos on YouTube showing the tent's features and how to pitch it.
Does the Kinver 5.0 bedroom split into two?
Yes. The darkened inner comes as a 3 berth section of 210 x 210cm and a 2 berth section of 210 x 140cm. Take the divider out and they open into one 5 berth bedroom of 210 x 350cm.
Is the Kinver 5.0 waterproof?
The OLTECH REPRO 210T RPS flysheet has a 5,000mm hydrostatic head, which Olpro explains as holding back the pressure of 5 metres of water before anything seeps through. The sewn-in groundsheet keeps bugs and draughts out.
Does the Kinver 5.0 have a canopy?
Yes. A large canopy covers the space outside the tent for cooking or sitting out, and all three doors have fly mesh, so the living area stays airy with the insects kept out.
Is there a footprint and carpet for the Kinver 5.0?
Yes. Olpro makes a Kinver footprint groundsheet and a Kinver carpet, each sold separately, which Olpro says complete the setup. The tent itself has a sewn-in groundsheet.
What warranty does the Kinver 5.0 have?
Olpro gives a Product Lifetime Warranty on qualifying new canvas products bought in 2024 or later, tents included. It covers genuine manufacturing faults over the product's reasonable expected life. If you buy it from a retailer, register it with Olpro within 30 days and keep your proof of purchase.

Hydrostatic Head (mm)5000The hydrostatic head of a fabric indicates how well it can keep water out and how waterproof it is. The higher the number, the better! A tent needs to have at least 1000mm HH for light showers, heavy rain and driving wind will put more pressure on the fabric and would therefore require a higher HH of 2000mm. Anything higher than this figure means it can keep out water being pushed through by someone leaning against it for example.
MaterialRecycled Plastic PolyesterMost tents are made from different denier polyester, which is a lightweight, very waterproof material. Polycotton is a heavier fabric, that breathes well allowing campers to stay cooler in sunnier climates. It is also very good at reducting condensation inside the tent.
Number of Bedrooms2This is the number of sectioned off bedrooms that are included in this tent. The standard industry allowance is 60cm per person, though larger or premium tents often provide more space.
Persons5Tent berth indicates how many people your tent can accommodate for sleeping. The industry standard allocates about 60cm of width per occupant, though exact dimensions can vary by manufacturer. If you prefer extra elbow room, you may want a tent berth larger than your headcount. Many campers size up by one or two berths to improve comfort on longer trips.
Pole constructionPoled (Fibreglass)This is whether the poles are inflatable (air) or rigid (e.g - fibreglass / steel or aluminium).
Weight (kg)22.60This is the weight of the tent in kg.
