  Product Description
The Olpro Hive is a 6 man poled tent for families and groups of up to six who want three individual bedrooms around one shared living space. The three bedroom compartments come off the rear of a six-sided living area, and each sleeping pod has a big inner tent with space for a double air bed.

Five skylights in the roof fill the Hive's living area with natural light, and two square windows with closing top vents offer you a view out, seven windows in all. The bedroom inners are darkened for sleeping, and all three come out: with less people on the outing, take one away and its pod becomes additional living or stowage space.

The flysheet is OLTECH® REPRO 210T polyester, a sustainable fabric Olpro makes from repurposed disposable plastic bottles, rated to a 5,000mm hydrostatic head with fully taped seams. Fibreglass roof poles and steel leg poles hold it up, and the groundsheet is stitched in. The front door has its own canopy on canopy poles to keep the rain off, and a fly mesh screen for privacy and to stop insects getting in, with fly mesh on the bedrooms too. Inside there is a lantern hook, ventilation points and a cable entry point for an electrical lead. A repair kit, a spare bedroom pole, light guy lines and a carrying bag come with it, and the tent is covered by Olpro's Product Lifetime Warranty when registered with Olpro inside 30 days of buying.

Families who would rather sleep in two bedrooms, three to a room, either side of a middle living area pick the Olpro Stafford 6.0, a poled tent for a maximum of six too. The Hive is for a group who want three individual sleeping spaces, parents in one pod and children in the other two, around a living area lit from above.

Is the Olpro Hive big enough for a family of six?

Yes. The Hive sleeps six in three bedroom pods, each with an inner tent large enough for a double air bed, set off the rear of a six-sided living space. Five roof skylights and two windows light the living area, every bedroom inner comes out for more space, and the tent weighs 20kg.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many bedrooms does the Olpro Hive have?
Three. The bedroom compartments come off the back of the Hive's six-sided living space, and each pod has a large darkened inner tent with room for a double air bed. All three inners are removable, so you take one out when you want more living space.
Should I choose the Hive or the Stafford 6.0?
Both are poled 6 man tents from Olpro. The Hive puts three bedroom pods off a six-sided living space lit by five roof skylights, and weighs 20kg. The Stafford 6.0 has two removable 3 berth blackout bedrooms either side of a central living area, with 210cm of standing height, and weighs 18kg. Choose the Hive for three separate sleeping spaces, the Stafford for two.
Will a double air bed fit in the Hive's bedrooms?
Yes. Olpro says each sleeping pod has a large inner tent which will fit a double air bed. The inner tents are darkened for sleeping, and any of the three comes out to make the living space bigger.
How waterproof is the Olpro Hive?
The flysheet is OLTECH REPRO 210T polyester with a 5,000mm hydrostatic head, which Olpro explains as holding back the pressure of 5 metres of water before anything seeps through. The seams are fully taped, the groundsheet is sewn in, and a canopy over the front door keeps the rain off the entrance.
Are the bedrooms in the Hive removable?
Yes. All three bedroom inners come out. With fewer people on the trip, take one out and its pod becomes extra living or storage space, then put it back when the whole group comes along.
Does the Olpro Hive take an electric hook-up lead?
Yes. A cable entry point brings an electrical lead into the tent, and a lantern hook in the living area gives you somewhere to hang a light.
What comes with the Olpro Hive?
Fibreglass roof poles and steel leg poles, canopy poles for the front door, a spare bedroom pole, bright coloured guy lines, a repair kit and a carry bag all come with the tent.
What warranty does the Olpro Hive have?
Olpro gives a Product Lifetime Warranty on qualifying new canvas products bought in 2024 or later, tents included. It covers genuine manufacturing faults over the product's reasonable expected life. If you buy it from a retailer, register it with Olpro within 30 days and keep your proof of purchase.

Features at a Glance
Hydrostatic Head (mm)5000The hydrostatic head of a fabric indicates how well it can keep water out and how waterproof it is. The higher the number, the better! A tent needs to have at least 1000mm HH for light showers, heavy rain and driving wind will put more pressure on the fabric and would therefore require a higher HH of 2000mm. Anything higher than this figure means it can keep out water being pushed through by someone leaning against it for example.
MaterialRecycled Plastic PolyesterMost tents are made from different denier polyester, which is a lightweight, very waterproof material. Polycotton is a heavier fabric, that breathes well allowing campers to stay cooler in sunnier climates. It is also very good at reducting condensation inside the tent.
Number of Bedrooms3This is the number of sectioned off bedrooms that are included in this tent. The standard industry allowance is 60cm per person, though larger or premium tents often provide more space.
Persons6Tent berth indicates how many people your tent can accommodate for sleeping. The industry standard allocates about 60cm of width per occupant, though exact dimensions can vary by manufacturer. If you prefer extra elbow room, you may want a tent berth larger than your headcount. Many campers size up by one or two berths to improve comfort on longer trips.
Pole constructionPoled (Fibreglass)This is whether the poles are inflatable (air) or rigid (e.g - fibreglass / steel or aluminium).
Weight (kg)20This is the weight of the tent in kg.
