The Olpro Stafford 6.0 is a 6 man poled tent for families and groups of up to six who want two individual bedrooms and a shared living area. Two 3 berth blackout bedrooms sit either side of the middle living space, which the entire group uses for eating, keeping kit and waiting out a wet afternoon.

Both bedrooms are fully detachable. With fewer people on the break, take one out and its end of the tent becomes additional living or stowage space. Olpro built the Stafford collection with explorer Ed Stafford, from 2 man backpacking tents to 8 man family tents, and the 6.0 sits in the centre. Groups of up to eight pick the Stafford 8.0, which brings a third detachable bedroom, while the 6.0 is for families and groups of up to six and, at 18 kg, is the lighter of the two to carry.

Five fibreglass poles put it up in around 30 minutes, and each pole is colour matched to its sleeve , so it is clear which pole goes where. The flysheet is OLTECH® REPRO 210T RPS, a fabric Olpro makes largely from recycled plastic bottles, 8 of them in every square metre, coated to a 5,000mm hydrostatic head with UV protection.

The AQUABARRIER™ four-tier zip system keeps water out at the doors, the TERRAGRIP™ customisable peg system holds the flysheet tight, and the groundsheet is fully stitched in. Within the living area there is a lantern hook, high-rise vents, fly mesh doors and a cable entry point for an electric hook-up lead, with two doors and two windows in total. Canopy poles, a repair kit, pegs, guy lines and a carrying bag come with it. The tent is covered by Olpro's Product Lifetime Warranty as soon as you register it with Olpro inside 30 days of buying.

The Stafford 6.0 covers a 620 x 300cm footprint and offers 210cm of standing height in the middle living area. Each of its two blackout bedrooms sleeps three, either side of the shared living space, and both come out when you want more space. It weighs 18kg and packs down to 70 x 40 x 40cm.

Hydrostatic Head (mm)5000The hydrostatic head of a fabric indicates how well it can keep water out and how waterproof it is. The higher the number, the better! A tent needs to have at least 1000mm HH for light showers, heavy rain and driving wind will put more pressure on the fabric and would therefore require a higher HH of 2000mm.
