The Outwell Charleston 7 Air TC combines polycotton comfort with OneAir inflation for families wanting space without the lengthy setup times typical of larger tents. Its three bedrooms sleep seven people across separate Ambassador Master sleeping compartments (230cm height each), with the standout feature being genuine polycotton construction throughout both flysheet and inner tent fabric. This 65% polyester, 35% cotton blend provides better temperature regulation than all-polyester alternatives, reducing condensation on cooler nights while offering UPF 30+ sun protection during summer camping trips. The integrated awning extends your usable space, and you can pitch the tent with flysheet first if weather looks threatening or as one complete unit in calmer conditions.

Pitching takes approximately 13 minutes to get the tent weather-ready using the single-point inflation system, though budget 29 minutes for a complete setup including the detachable groundsheet in the third zone and arranging interior features. The patent-pending Outwell Light System runs from any USB-C power source (you'll need to provide your own power bank or mains adapter) and offers dimmable lighting without separate battery management for each unit. Front access works two ways - zip it into three distinct zones for privacy and weather protection, or toggle up the entire front wall for an open canopy configuration that suits warmer days or when you want seamless indoor-outdoor living. The living area features a sewn-in groundsheet, while the third zone uses a separate groundsheet you can remove if using that space as a porch area for muddy boots.

At 49.7kg packed weight and 95 x 51 x 47cm dimensions, this tent requires proper transport capacity and storage space at home. The polycotton fabric needs drying thoroughly before storage to prevent mildew, which means you cannot pack it away wet after a rainy weekend like you might with synthetic tents. Steel 19mm poles provide structural support alongside the DuraAir tubes, and the double-coated polyethylene groundsheet handles typical UK campsite conditions. Mesh ventilation panels throughout, plus the additional side door with mesh backing, create good airflow when temperatures rise. The darkened bedroom fabric helps with sleep quality during bright summer mornings, though some campers find complete darkness takes adjustment if they're used to traditional tent fabrics.

The Outtex Airtech fabric combines 65% polyester with 35% cotton to create a naturally breathable material that regulates the tent's internal climate. The cotton fibres swell when wet and work with the dense weave to provide natural waterproofing, whilst the high-strength thread construction ensures excellent sealing at the seams. This polycotton blend offers superior durability compared to standard synthetic fabrics, and the cotton content allows moisture to escape rather than building up as condensation inside the tent. The fabric also provides UPF 50+ sun protection - the highest rating available - and comes with a durable waterproof sewn-in groundsheet that'll keep you dry from below.
