The Manual Switch De-frost Element 12V, provided by C.A.K Tanks, is an ingeniously designed system aimed at preventing the freezing of water stored in tanks, particularly under cold conditions down to -25°C. This stainless steel element, installed through the sidewall of the tank 55mm from the base and ideally near the pump outlet, ensures the water remains above freezing temperatures, safeguarding the tank's contents without the need for additional power sources. While the element is effective for tanks up to 45 litres on its own, larger tanks might require extra insulation, such as tank wrap 256614 or Styrofoam, to achieve optimal protection levels. This manual switch element is a critical component for maintaining fluid water in extreme weather, enhancing the reliability of your water system in your motorhome or camper.

We recommend illuminated on / off switches are installed to confirm power is off as the elements work is not visible. The element is powered by 12 volts DC supply at 30 watts and consume 2.5 amps. Suitable for plastic and metal tanks but not fuel tanks.
249094 manually switched de-frost element is fitted to larger Systems to supplement the 249095 during very cold weather, When additional protection is required, it is simply switched on.
