There are cheaper versions, even in Maypole's range, but this is a good quality, European manufactured adapter from a respected supplier (sold in Maypole branded packaging) so should prove more reliable and longer lasting than the "Cheap Chinese C**p" types. So far I've had 100% reliable connections between my car's 13pin and old trailers 7pin electric's - no wiggling and swearing like before - just plug and play and off you go. Recommended.

Had my trailer for quite a while so has the old 7 pin plug my car has the new 13 pin so i needed a solution<br />the Maypole adapter does exactly what it says. It is also very compact and takes up very little room in glove box never without it.

Does what it says on the tin.<br />I don't frequently tow a (lightweight) trailer and my car has an automatic retractable tow hitch so I need to take off the adaptor each time; whether it is robust enough to withstand heavy use, I don't know but it looks to be fine for me

Great product, allowed me to connect my bike rack to my 13pin socket on my car.<br />It is tight trying to pull the plug back out one you have connected the 7 pin in but the 13 pin side is easy to remove and attach to your car

Great device ,I did not know car manufacturers were fitting the "Euro" 13 pin sockets so needed a quick fix rather than fitting Euro plug to trailer. This is easy to use ; you need to learn the knack of twisting it on and off. Just too long to stay fitted to my fold away socket (Skoda Octavia) but gives me option for trailer to be pulled by cars with either electrics.

Tried the 7 pin adapter for the first time last week and found it really good. Was quite surprised the size of the adapter, really small and neat. Took a few attempts to get the Adapter out of the 7 pin one, but I think that was down to the product being new. Over all well impressed. I am going to purchase another one so I can keep one plugged onto my Tow Bar fitted bike rack Carrier and one for my caravan so it's less hassle to keep un-plugging one to put onto the other.

I have used this adaptor a fair while now and it hasn't let me down. Just remember to align the key way into your vehicle socket and then plug in your trailer lead. No issues so far with regard to water ingress and is compact enough to not get knocked while fitted.

This was a great purchase. Got my car a few months ago and had a tow bar fitted and hadn't thought to check out the fittings for hooking up my cycle carrier. A quick search on Amazon bought up this product. It is very reasonably priced and does the job well. Perfect and easy to install, one quick turn and you're away. Would highly recommend this product

This adapter is a good piece of kit. I have a Skoda Estate with hidden electrics, & I needed an adapter for my trailer as it has a 7 pin, & my car has the 13 pin connector. I had no problem plugging the adapter in to the car, with the trailer already connected to it.<br />We checked all the lights, & they all work, so to conclude, this little adapter, well, It Works For Me.<br />I can recommend it so if you need one, then buy it, its cheap?

i bought 13/7 adapter on the strenght of the first review i read. i have new skoda yeti, detachtable towbar with 13 pin hook up. i have ifor williams trailor and tow ball mounted bike rack, both have 7 pin hook up! the maypole is easy to use,good price and quality. apparantly 13 pin hook up is more reliable than 7 pin for caravans, but the adapter gives best of both worlds.

So much better than the cheap rubbish my friend bought from halfords (the middle pulled out of his!).<br />The packing quality lets this product down and initially put me off buying it. However - I'm glad I did:<br />When out of the packing the adapter feels solid and very good quality. At the moment it is a little stiff to use (turning it into the euro connector on the car), but the adapter is keyed and can only be inserted correctly.<br /><br />The pins look high quality nickle-plated and the trailer I tested it on worked flawlessly and my Skoda didn't kick up any lighting/wiring problems. It also aligned and fitted into the standard Skoda 13-pin socket lid which is the reason behind the large piece sticking up off the top. I would be confident that this would fit any VW/Audi/Skoda/Seat etc. including cars with hidden electrics (mine has a removeable tow bar and upside-down electrics within a removeable bumper piece). I hope this helps.
