  Product Description
The Olpro View Lite Poled Caravan Porch Awning is a light porch awning for touring caravanners whose awning rail sits 235cm to 250cm high and takes 6mm beading. It brings a room at the side of the caravan with space for chairs, a table, wet coats and muddy boots, so the caravan itself remains clear. It is available in grey, has no sewn-in groundsheet and has no bedroom.

There are two sizes. The 260 covers 260cm x 230cm, weighs 6.8kg and packs down to 60cm x 22cm x 22cm, which makes it the lighter carry for short breaks. The 390 covers 390cm x 240cm, weighs 11.5kg and packs to 79cm x 32cm x 32cm, and offers a wider room for a table and chairs. Both stand on steel leg poles with fibreglass roof poles, pitch in around 15 minutes and have standing room inside. Rubber awning ladder bands and storm straps hold it down in the wind.

Extra large windows keep the view from inside, with curtains and roll-back covers for privacy. A u-shaped zip rolls the front panel open like a veranda on dry days, and the panel stays fastened to the awning. Three doors offer access. The fabric is OLTECH REPRO 190T polyester with a 5,000mm hydrostatic head, which Olpro makes from repurposed disposable plastic bottles. Steel poles, fibreglass poles, pegs, storm straps, tunnel throw-over straps, a carrying bag and a repair kit come in the box. Olpro makes the View Lite for touring from pitch to pitch instead of seasonal pitches, and covers it with its Product Lifetime Warranty as soon as registered with Olpro inside 30 days of buying.

Which Olpro View Lite size should I choose for my caravan?

Pick the 260 for a smaller porch, 260cm x 230cm at 6.8kg, packing to 60cm x 22cm x 22cm. Select the 390 for a wider room, 390cm x 240cm at 11.5kg, packing to 79cm x 32cm x 32cm. Both fit awning rails 235cm to 250cm high, with 6mm beading, and pitch in around 15 minutes.

Hydrostatic Head5000The Hydrostatic Head of a fabric indicates how well it can keep water out and how waterproof it is. The higher the number, the better! An awning needs at least a 1000mmHH for light showers. Heavy rain and driving wind will put more pressure on the fabric and therefore requires a higher HH of at least 2000mm HH. Anything higher than this will mean it can keep out water being pushed through, for example by someone leaning against it.
MaterialPolyesterIf you want to travel in warmer climates, then you should consider an awning made from polycotton, as it is a much more breathable fabric, with less condensation. Tents made from polyester are lighter in weight and perform perfectly in the UK cliamte.
Pole ConstructionPoled (Fibreglass)You may be interested in an inflatable air awning, which can be pitched up in a matter of minutes. Or, you may prefer a more traditional rigid structure awning, supported by poles made from fibre glass, steel or an alloy.
Type of AwningPorch Awning A cassette awning is a wind-out awning that is attached to the side of the caravan enclosed in a case. A porch awning is a smaller awning that gives you space to change out of wet clothes, hang coats and store outside gear overnight. A full awning can double your living space, allowing you to dine, have a sitting room area or add an extra bedroom.
