  Product Description
The Outwell Benton 2 TC is a compact 2 man polycotton tent for couples and pairs who camp next to a bigger family tent or travel light between sites. TC stands for Technical Cotton, Outwell’s name for polycotton. The Outtex® AirTech fabric (65% polyester, 35% cotton) breathes in warm weather and helps control the temperature inside as conditions change through the day.

The back-to-back layout puts a porch area at each end, with the bedroom in the centre. Both ends open for access, so neither camper climbs over the other. Inside, Dark Premier Bedrooms cut light for better sleep, and the built-in Outwell Light System lights the tent from a USB-C power source (minimum 10W, not provided). Low side vents keep air moving, and the split window front door offers a mesh or PVC choice with a waterproof zip-up curtain. Mesh stowage pockets in the inner tents hold smaller items.

The PowerTec fibreglass pole system uses square segments for added toughness and steadiness in wind. The tent pitches flysheet-first or as one unit, and a triangular groundsheet in the porch shields the floor in wet conditions. The inner tent floor is PU-coated taffeta polyester, and the primary groundsheet is double-coated waterproof polyethylene. Outwell covers all its products with a two-year limited guarantee against manufacturing defects.

Couples or friends who want a compact tent for pitching next to a larger family tent, or for transporting between sites, stay with the Benton 2 TC at 10.4kg. Families of four who want the same breathable polycotton and Dark Premier Bedrooms in a bigger layout step up to the Benton 4 TC, which weighs 15.6kg.

Is the Outwell Benton 2 TC big enough for two campers?

The Benton 2 TC sleeps two in a Dark Premier Bedroom with a porch area at each end. It is a three-room tunnel tent with symmetrical access from both sides, so neither person has to climb over the other. Packed, it measures 70 x 28 x 28cm and weighs 10.4kg.

MaterialPolycottonMost tents are made from different denier polyester, which is a lightweight, very waterproof material. Polycotton is a heavier fabric, that breathes well allowing campers to stay cooler in sunnier climates. It is also very good at reducting condensation inside the tent.
Persons2Tent berth indicates how many people your tent can accommodate for sleeping. The industry standard allocates about 60cm of width per occupant, though exact dimensions can vary by manufacturer. If you prefer extra elbow room, you may want a tent berth larger than your headcount. Many campers size up by one or two berths to improve comfort on longer trips.
