The Stafford 4.0 is the four berth model in Olpro's Ed Stafford range, and it uses a vis-a-vis layout. Two darkened inner bedrooms sit at opposite ends of the tent, facing each other across a shared living area. Adults at one end, children at the other, with the middle left free for cooking, drying kit and sitting out a wet afternoon. The pitched footprint is 480 x 210cm, so it fits a standard grass pitch with room for the guy lines, and the manufacturer's code is ED103.

How does the Stafford 4.0 vis-a-vis layout work for a family of four?


Two darkened inner bedrooms pitch at opposite ends of the 480 x 210cm tent, facing each other across a central living area with 190cm of standing headroom. Each bedroom gives 160cm of height and sleeps two. Four fibreglass poles put the entire tent up in around 30 minutes.

The flysheet is OLTECH REPRO 210T RPS, a 210T polyester woven from repurposed single-use plastic bottles and coated to a 5,000mm hydrostatic head. A sewn-in groundsheet keeps draughts and insects underfoot at bay, the AQUABARRIER four tier zip system shields the entrance from driving rain, and the TERRAGRIP peg system holds the flysheet tension once the wind gets up. High-rise vents and fly mesh on the door work on condensation and midges. At 16 kg, packing down to 70cm x 20cm x 20cm, one person lifts it into a car boot, and the bag holds a repair kit plus the canopy poles for pitching the doorway out as a porch in dry weather.

How long does the Stafford 4.0 take to pitch?
Around 30 minutes using the four fibreglass poles supplied. The poles feed through sleeves on the flysheet, the inner bedrooms clip in once the outer is up, and the TERRAGRIP pegs set the tension. Two people working together make shorter work of it than one.
How waterproof is the Stafford 4.0?
The OLTECH REPRO 210T RPS fabric is coated to a 5,000mm hydrostatic head, which handles sustained British rain. The AQUABARRIER four tier zip system keeps water away from the entrance zip, and the fully sewn-in groundsheet stops ground water and draughts coming in at the edges.
Does the Stafford 4.0 take a mains electric hook-up?
Yes. A cable entry point in the flysheet feeds a site hook-up lead into the living area, so a cool box, fridge or lighting unit runs inside the tent. The lantern hook in the living area roof gives a fixed point for a rechargeable light.
Does the Stafford 4.0 have a porch?
Canopy poles come in the bag as standard. They prop the door panel out above the entrance to form a shaded canopy for boots, chairs and cooking in settled weather. The panel rolls down and zips shut when rain or wind arrives.
What is OLTECH REPRO 210T RPS fabric made from?
It is a 210T polyester woven from repurposed single-use plastic bottles, with Olpro quoting the equivalent of 296 bottles per Stafford 4.0. The finished fabric is coated for waterproofing and UV protection at 5,000mm, and it carries an embossed surface pattern.
What warranty applies to the Stafford 4.0?
Olpro offer a lifetime warranty on canvas products bought in 2024 onwards. Buying from a retailer, the cover applies once the online warranty registration form on the Olpro website is completed within 30 days of the purchase date, so register the tent as soon as it arrives.
How quickly is the Stafford 4.0 dispatched?
