View DetailsThe Outwell Oakdale 5PA is the ultimate family tent, featuring plenty of space, plus helpful communal areas for storing gear and eating. It is slightly larger than the Outwell Hartsdatle 4PA, allowing you to accommodate up to five people - great if you have three kids.
The standout feature of this product is the fact that it is inflatable. You don't have to worry about feeding poles through channels on the canvas. Because it is an air tent, all you need to do is pump it up and then tie it down to the ground with pegs.
The front of the Oakdale 5PA features a spacious porch area, measuring a massive 350 cm wide and 165 cm deep. This space is great for drying out muddy boots and wet clothes and lets you avoid dragging mud into the main body of the tent. With the door unzipped, the area is also great for sitting out breezes and showers.
Behind the porch area is the main communal space of the Oakdale 5PA. Outwell makes the tent slightly asymmetrical to extend this area, providing an alcove for storing all of your gear out of the way of the living space itself.
The bedroom is at the back of the tent. Outwell suggests splitting this into two distinct spaces - an adult sleeping area, and kids sleeping area for up to three children. Outwell darkens the bedroom lining, which is great for preventing the sun from waking people up on summer mornings. And each of the doors features the brand's Quick and Quiet magnetic access, eliminating annoying zip sounds in the night.
Sleeping up to five in two Premier Bedrooms with Panorama outlook, the versatile 3-zone Outwell Oakdale 5PA features Quick & Quiet Access between the outer and inner zones. Ample internal space plus easier opening/closing is ensured by the steep front wall. With its unique Outwell Wing Lounge offering flexibility, many windows, ample ventilation, it delivers airy living space.
In summary, this tent is for families who want easy setup and extra space for kids.
| Hanging Storage | Yes | A flexible hanging system which allows you to easily attach lighting or storage in your tent living area. Items of up to 1.5Kg can be conveniently hung along this beading rail, usually by a hook system. |
| Hydrostatic Head (mm) | 4000 | The hydrostatic head of a fabric indicates how well it can keep water out and how waterproof it is. The higher the number, the better! A tent needs to have at least 1000mm HH for light showers, heavy rain and driving wind will put more pressure on the fabric and would therefore require a higher HH of 2000mm. Anything higher than this figure means it can keep out water being pushed through by someone leaning against it for example. |
| Material | Polyester | Most tents are made from different denier polyester, which is a lightweight, very waterproof material. Polycotton is a heavier fabric, that breathes well allowing campers to stay cooler in sunnier climates. It is also very good at reducting condensation inside the tent. |
| Number of Bedrooms | 2 | This is the number of sectioned off bedrooms that are included in this tent. The standard industry allowance is 60cm per person, though larger or premium tents often provide more space. |
| Persons | 5 | Tent berth indicates how many people your tent can accommodate for sleeping. The industry standard allocates about 60cm of width per occupant, though exact dimensions can vary by manufacturer. If you prefer extra elbow room, you may want a tent berth larger than your headcount. Many campers size up by one or two berths to improve comfort on longer trips. |
| Pole construction | Inflatable Air Tubes | This is whether the poles are inflatable (air) or rigid (e.g - fibreglass / steel or aluminium). |
| Porch Area | Yes | A porch area gives campers a lot of extra room, that can be used as a wet zone (drying off before entering the main living space), storage of all your outside gear overnight, or as a place to cook and dine or a great area for your family dog to sleep. It adds a lot of versatility to your camping lifestyle. |
| Weight (kg) | 28.90 | This is the weight of the tent in kg. |
| Wing Area | Yes | An additional wing area can be very useful as it can be used as an extra bedroom area, storage of toys and camping equipment or as a place to put a comfy inflatable sofa, so you can sit back and read your favourite book. Alternatively, it is an ideal spot for the family dog to sleep. |
