Frequently Asked Questions

Will the Thetford Fresh-Up Set fit both the C250 and C260 cassette toilets?

Yes, the Thetford Fresh-Up Set is compatible with both the C250 and C260 cassette toilet models. The kit includes a replacement waste holding tank and a toilet seat and lid, both of which are designed to fit the standard plastic bowl versions of the C250 and C260. It does not fit ceramic bowl variants of these toilets.

Does the Fresh-Up Set require any tools to install?

No tools are needed to install the Thetford Fresh-Up Set. Both the waste holding tank and the toilet seat and lid are designed for straightforward fitting, making the replacement process quick and accessible for most caravan or motorhome owners without any specialist knowledge or equipment.

What is included in the Thetford C250/C260 Fresh-Up Set?

The kit contains one replacement waste holding tank and one toilet seat with lid. These are the two main components most prone to wear on a cassette toilet, so replacing them brings the unit back to a near-new condition without the need to purchase an entirely new toilet.

Will this Fresh-Up Set fit a Thetford C250 with a ceramic bowl?

No. The toilet seat supplied in this kit is designed for plastic bowl versions of the C250 and C260 only. It is not compatible with ceramic bowl models. If you have a ceramic bowl variant, Thetford produces a separate Fresh-Up Set specifically for ceramic C250/C260 toilets.

Is the Thetford Fresh-Up Set a sustainable option compared to buying a new toilet?

Yes. By replacing only the worn components rather than the entire toilet unit, the Fresh-Up Set reduces waste and is a more environmentally responsible choice. Thetford promotes it as a sustainable alternative to full toilet replacement, and it costs considerably less than purchasing a brand-new cassette toilet for your caravan or motorhome.

Do I need to add toilet fluid to the new waste holding tank after fitting?

Yes. After fitting the new waste holding tank, add the correct dosage of Thetford toilet fluid along with approximately 2 litres of water to cover the bottom of the tank. This helps control odours and keeps the inside of the tank clean from first use. Always follow the dosage guidance on your chosen Thetford toilet fluid product.
