Product Description

The Scopema Altair 3P is a 2-seater RIB benchseat made by Scopema in France, supplied here as a fixed-base unit at 1120mm wide. It's a proper seat-to-bed system, not just a rock and roll bed. The key difference is the flip-over design: the curved seat cushions rotate to expose the flat reverse side for sleeping, giving a sleeping length of 1860mm with the standard backrest. Foam is Scopex at 45kg/m3, the steel frame weighs just 8kg, and integrated 3-point seatbelts with Top Tether ISOFIX are built into the benchseat structure at both positions. This is the 1120mm width, the most widely fitted RIB bed size in UK campervan conversions, and it's supplied in your choice of five original manufacturer fabrics. The seat holds EU type approvals R14, R16, and R17, tested to TUV and UTAC standards for M1 vehicles.

What fabric options are available on the Scopema Altair 3P 112cm RIB bed?

This Altair 3P is available in five original manufacturer upholstery choices: VW Bricks (T6.1 Highline geometric pattern), VW T6 Simora (the dark-toned T6 Transporter pattern), VW T7 Palladium (from the T7 range), Ford Barlo Urban Grey Motif (patterned grey from the Ford range), and Ford Custom Plus Motif (Transit Custom pattern). All five are genuine OEM-specification fabrics sourced and applied by Scopema at the factory in France.

The 1120mm width works well in the majority of panel van conversions because it leaves enough side space for standard-depth kitchen furniture or a full-height wardrobe run, while still sleeping two people comfortably. The fixed base bolts directly to the vehicle floor using the 1150mm rail module, which is compatible with the VW Transporter T5, T6, and T6.1, Ford Transit, Ford Transit Custom (note: a raiser frame is required for the Transit Custom to clear the wheel arch), Mercedes Sprinter, Renault Trafic, Vauxhall Vivaro, and similar panel vans. The second backrest is the standard 650mm height, giving the 1860mm sleeping length. A 3D mattress pad is available as an option for added comfort on the sleeping side.

Choosing the right fabric at the point of order matters in a van conversion because the seat is the focal point of the interior. The OEM fabric options here let VW Transporter owners match their RIB bed to the factory seats in their T6, T6.1, or T7 without visible mismatch, while Ford Transit and Transit Custom converters have two dedicated fabric options that reference their own vehicle's interior palette.
