  Product Description
The waste heat in an engine’s cooling system can be used for heating the living space via Alde’s engine heat exchanger and central heating system. Then all that’s required is to set the desired room temperature on the control panel as normal and the central heating circulates automatically when called for.

The system can be reversed if a circulation pump (276813) is installed in the engine cooling system, allowing the engine to be pre-heated, saving the extra fuel used in cold starting.

When installing the engine heat exchanger, the vendor or vehicle manufacturer should be consulted to avoid technical mishap.

This is how it works
1. The heated engine coolant passes through the heat exchanger.
2. In the heat exchanger, the heat from the engine coolant is transferred to the glycol fluid of the heating system.
3. A pump drives the heated glycol fluid through the heating system.
4. Once the glycol fluid has given off its heat, it returns to the heat exchanger to be reheated.
This process is repeated as long as the engine is running and the heat exchanger pump is switched on.

Engine heater: The heat exchanger can also be used to warm up the engine coolant before starting, keeping the engine warm and ready to run even in cold conditions.


More comfort
Alde heat exchangercan also be operated in reverse using a circulation pump on the engine side. The heat exchanger then acts as an engine heater by heating the engine’s cooling system. With a warm engine, you can quickly warm up the cab – particularly useful for winter campers or those who have to drive on cold mornings and evenings.
Good for the environment
In addition to increased comfort with the heat exchanger, you also protect the environment by avoiding cold starts with high exhaust emissions. In addition, you save fuel when you start a warmer engine. By avoiding cold starts, you also reduce the stress on the engine, increasing its lifetime over time.
