The Dometic RMD10.5XT absorption fridge freezer suits motorhomes, caravans and campervans with its 177 litre capacity. It runs on 12V, 230V or gas and picks the power source automatically. You get a separate 35 litre freezer and 142 litres for fridge space.

Is the Dometic RMD10.5XT suitable for tight motorhome kitchens?

Yes. Its double-hinged door opens left or right without tools, fitting 523mm wide by 605mm deep by 1245mm high spaces. At 41.5kg, it installs over wheel arches, and the TFT display shows power and temperature clearly.

What's the difference between the RMD 10.5XP and RMD 10.5XT?

The RMD 10.5XP features an LED control panel with MODE, MAX, MID and MIN buttons, whilst the RMD 10.5XT has a TFT colour display with an ergonomic push-turn control knob. All other specifications remain identical including 177-litre capacity (142L fridge, 35L freezer), 605mm extra-deep cabinet, 580g/24h gas consumption and 250W mains input. Both models offer the same double-door design with separate compartments and double-hinged operation for left or right opening.

Silent absorption cooling technology keeps your provisions chilled without any operating noise. The LED light bar provides uniform illumination inside both fridge and freezer compartments. A two-point locking system on each door keeps contents secure during travel. Smart CI-BUS technology allows the fridge to communicate with compatible control systems fitted in modern vehicles. The separate freezer door provides direct access to frozen items without letting warm air into the main fridge compartment. Gas operation requires professional installation by a Gas Safe registered engineer, with proper ventilation and external flue arrangements. The fridge compartment provides 142 litres of usable space whilst the separate freezer offers 35 litres for frozen storage.

There is a lot of ice formation in the refrigerator. How can this be fixed?

Check that the door closes properly. You can easily test this yourself by placing a torch in the refrigerator. If you see a light slit along the edge of the door opening, then the door must be closed properly or newly hung.

Perhaps the thermostat is set higher than necessary. Or food with a high degree of saturation has been placed in the refrigerator, forming condensation on the evaporator. We recommend thawing the refrigerator and drying it properly. Afterwards, bear in mind these possible causes.
