We have a problem with our cassette toilet. The blade is very stiff to open and close and also the holding unit is leaking into the cavity (as if the seal is not correct?). The model on the toilet itself is C250CWE but the number on the holding tank is C250N11 X066C01. Do we have the correct tank for the toilet? have been browsing on internet and noticed a lot of problems with C250s....can you advise please? thank you
With the problems that you have it is probably best to replace the whole mechanism on the toilet. This is our ref. 237827.

Easy Solution To Repair

Damaged the flanges when trying to remove the original unit, as seal needed replacing. More expensive than just renewing the seal, but very simple job. Would do this again rather than dismantle dirty unit to renew just the seal. Only complication being the inclusion of a white bracket,which in most cases is not needed, which is located on the top of the tank cupboard. No instructions with this caused confusion.

Thetford 250/360 holding tank mechanism complete. Biggest problem in replacing this is the removal of the old one the reverse position of the blade does not give enough leverage to break the seal vacuum. I had to use several doses of WD 40 before it would move. Some form of paddle lever with a handle would come in handy! Once off the new one was easy to fit but use some silicone grease on the seal first!
