Hello. I have a Thetford cassette toilet C-200 CWE which has the waste level indicator. This indicator is operated by a float within the waste holding tank triggering a reed switch mounted externally against the outside of the tank. The indicator does not work and on following a fault finding trail, I established that when the tank is full, the internal float does not float, but sinks! I'm wondering if there is any way this float can be removed from within the tank so that I can effect replacement or even repair? I am aware the tank is manufactured in 2 halves and that effecting a 'fix' may not be possible. However, a definitive answer from someone who knows would be a big help. While I'm aware that this indicator being inoperative is no big deal in the usage of the tank, being an engineer I like everything that should work to work, no matter how trivial!
The float is a replaceable item, our ref. 137100, and can be accessed through the opening in the waste tank. You will need to remove the clamping plate and the seal to make access easier. You may need a small mirror to view the installation.
