The Olpro Cocoon V2 is the fibreglass-poled model of Olpro's most sought-after drive-away awning, for large families and groups with a van between 190 cm and 250cm tall. It offers you a big living area plus a detachable darkened inner bedroom which sleeps up to five, with 210cm of standing height and a 350cm width.

The living space is constructed for time on site. There is a sewn-in groundsheet, a front canopy for bikes and eating outdoors, PVC windows with a blind on every one, and fly mesh on the entrance to stop the bugs getting in. The tunnel has a door on each side for getting in and out of the van, twin 4mm and 6mm beading for a normal awning rail, and three throw-over straps to connect it to a van with no rail.

Olpro offers a pitch time of around 25 minutes for the fibreglass pole frame, and a spare pole comes in the bag next to the repair kit , storm straps, pegs and guy ropes. The fabric is OLTECH® REPRO 210T RPS, made of repurposed disposable plastic bottles, with a 5,000mm hydrostatic head and rain diverters on the zips. It weighs 24kg and packs to 82 x 43 x 43cm.

Families who would rather inflate the frame than build it pick the Cocoon Breeze V2, the inflatable Cocoon, which goes up in around 15 minutes with the provided manual pump and has a side canopy for stowage or a toilet tent. Hydrostatic Head5000The Hydrostatic Head of a fabric indicates how well it can keep water out and how waterproof it is. The higher the number, the better! An awning needs at least a 1000mmHH for light showers. Heavy rain and driving wind will put more pressure on the fabric and therefore requires a higher HH of at least 2000mm HH.
