The Olpro Cubo V2 is a poled campervan awning for campervanners who want a living and dining space next to the van instead of a bedroom. Olpro also calls it the Cubo Poled. It offers you a simple room off the side of the van to eat, sit, work or keep kit in, with standing room under a 220cm roof on a 300 x 300cm floor.

It fits campervans with an attachment height of 190cm to 250cm. Twin 4 mm and 6mm beading on the tunnel fits a fixed or roll-out awning rail, and the awning works off a sliding door or off a tailgate and barn doors. No rail on your van? The tunnel throw-over straps in the bag fix it instead. It is a drive-away design, so the awning remains on the pitch when you take the van out.

The fabric is OLTECH® REPRO 210T RPS, which Olpro makes from repurposed disposable plastic bottles, 198 of them in each awning. It has a 5,000mm hydrostatic head, rain diverters on the zips and a sewn-in groundsheet. Two sets of fibreglass poles hold it in a geodesic shape, Olpro offers a pitching time of 20 minutes, and there are three doors and two windows.

Campervanners who would rather inflate than build a frame pick the Cubo Breeze V2, the inflatable Cubo, which goes up in about 10 minutes with the supplied manual pump. The Cubo V2 is for those short of room in the van, as it is the lighter and smaller of the two to carry and stow. A spare pole, a repair kit, pegs, guy ropes and a carrying bag come with it, and Olpro's Product Lifetime Warranty covers it as soon as registered with Olpro inside 30 days of buying.

Hydrostatic Head5000The Hydrostatic Head of a fabric indicates how well it can keep water out and how waterproof it is. The higher the number, the better! An awning needs at least a 1000mmHH for light showers. Heavy rain and driving wind will put more pressure on the fabric and therefore requires a higher HH of at least 2000mm HH. Anything higher than this will mean it can keep out water being pushed through, for example by someone leaning against it.
