Britain lagging behind in car eSafety

Posted by Freddy Morton

Britain is behind the rest of Europe when it comes to adopting eSafety technology, those with Smev caravan hobs and cookers have been told.

These findings have been revealed in a new study across ten European studies investigating the acceptance of eSafety technologies by car users.

"The study shows that familiarity with these life-saving technologies is on the rise with awareness levels ten per cent greater in 2011 than two years ago but ... thousands more lives could be saved and injuries avoided if these systems were more widely used," said Adrian Walsh, director of both the Driving for Better Business campaign and RoadSafe, which are both associate members of eSafetyAware.

He added that RoadSafe is urging all employers to ensure new company cars are equipped with the technology, such as ESC which has been proven to save lives and reduce casualties.

Road users have recently been urged to check the tread on their tyres and ensure they are correctly inflated.
