Caravan accessories owners 'focusing on UK holidays'

Posted by Linda Davidson

Single parents with home-from-home items and accessories are increasingly taking breaks around the UK rather than heading overseas, an expert has claimed.

Chrissie Lewandowski, co-founder of singlewithkids.co.uk, has highlighted the fact that the financial constraints on this group are one reason why staycationing is so popular.

She said that the uncertainty affecting the economy is another key driver of this behaviour, with a fairly large number of single parents booking breaks at the last minute.

Ms Lewandowski claimed: "We've also seen a number of people who, instead of going overseas, are stretching their budget over a number of UK trips. So they might have a few camping trips rather than having one big blow out overseas."

She said that luxury camping and caravanning has exploded in popularity and it can be a great way to stretch tight budgets.

Out and About Live's Claire Tupholme recently advised owners of caravan taps to try the Skelwith Fold Caravan Park, which boasts 130 acres of woodland.
