Caravanners hoping to catch some of the Olympics urged to act fast

Posted by Greg Throughton

Truma caravan water heaters owners hoping to take a break around London in 2012 to catch the Olympics have been urged to act fast.

The advice comes after the owner of the Amerden Caravan Park in Taplow told the Windsor Express that it is being inundated with enquiries about accommodation, even though it is not accepting booking until January 2012.

Much of the demand is coming from caravanners hoping to catch some of the action at Dorney Lake which will be the venue for a number of kayaking and rowing events.

"We've already had 70 or so enquiries since it was first announced it would be at Dorney Lake," Beverley Hakesley told the newspaper.

She also revealed that the park received an enquiry from a group of 60 Dutch supporters looking to take advantage of the ideal location of the park over the Olympic period.

Ticket applications for the 2012 Olympics are due to open on March 15th.
