Falling in love with a destination is 'human nature'

Posted by Linda Davidson

Many caravan refrigeration owners will find returning to their favourite caravan sites instinctive, according to one expert.

A recent study by Thomson Al Fresco has revealed that the average family will have five breaks at the same location, with one in six participants visiting the same resort ten times or more.

The study also found that the main reason for holidaymakers returning to the same destination was the fact that they did not have to worry about finding a new location.

Clare Banham, spokesperson for ABTA, said: "Human nature is that you will fall in love with a destination and keep going back and you feel comfortable and at home there."

She added that it was easy to see why people may return to the same destination as you could make friends there and go back to meet them again and again.

Minister for tourism, John Penrose MP, recently said that caravanning had been a successful and distinctive part of the tourist economy in the UK for more than 100 years.
