France provides 'a top holiday destination' for caravanners

Posted by Greg Throughton

Caravan refrigeration owners looking to get away without breaking the bank may wish to check out the caravan sites on offer in France.

Travel writer Fred Mawer, in an article for the Daily Telegraph, explained that the cost of crossing the channel has come down significantly in the last decade.

He stated: "In the summer months, you can get the car and family to France and back for under £100."

Mr Mawer added that even when the cost of fuel is taken into account and the tolls on European roads, the final travel bill for a family is likely to be much less than you would pay to fly to Spain or Italy and hire a car.

He also claimed that no European country can come close to the range, quality and variety of caravan sites on offer in France.

Lonely Planet recently claimed that summer 2011 will see caravan refrigeration owners taking their vehicles to the eurozone for some summer sun.
