Fuel report suggests cuts to duty tax

Posted by Freddy Morton

Motorhome owners with accessories and tools for your caravan like Dometic caravan fridges may be interested to learn that the Centre for Economics and Business Research has produced data encouraging the government to cut the fuel duty tax in order to save money for consumers and businesses.

The report was met with praise from lobby group FairFuelUK, which argued that cutting the tax by 2.5p per litre would boost the economy without costing the government any extra in tax revenue.

"Cutting fuel duty will boost growth, create jobs and reduce welfare bills. It is also fair and progressive as it will give most help to those on low incomes," said Quentin Willson, national spokesman for FairFuelUK.

A cut to duty could be good news for caravan owners already trying to cut down on their bills in the current difficult economic climate.

Various new caravan models have been noted for their lightweight style, partly a result of manufacturers attempting to make more energy-efficient vehicles.
