Harry Potter fans should visit Gloucester

Posted by Linda Davidson

Harry Potter fans preparing for this summer's finale may want to take the chance to visit film locations in Gloucester, a spokesperson for the city has said.

Owners of Comet caravan taps have been encouraged to take a trip to the city as it is a "fantastic visitor destination" that offers a great mix of urban areas as well as beautiful countryside.

The city is also located in the Cotwolds region which has been much admired and is worth a visit, he added.

"Gloucester's magnificent cathedral is undoubtedly the city's crowning glory, with some of the world's biggest stained glass windows and intricate and distinctive cloisters, instantly recognisable having doubled up as Hogwarts during filming of the Harry Potter movies," the spokesman for Marketing Gloucester said.

This summer Harry Potter fans will have the chance to see the final instalment in the series of films.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 will be released in July this year.
