Plans to extend Seafield park approved

Posted by Linda Davidson

People with motorhomes and Thetford caravan fridges may be interested in taking a trip to Northumberland in the coming months after Seafield Caravan Park gained approval for its extension plans.

The company intends to add almost 200 new units for caravanners to make use of as well as enhancing the facilities available to visitors by developing a community sports facility, reports the Berwick Adviser.

A submission to Northumberland County Council's north area planning committee for permission to go ahead was unanimously given the green light.

Sandra Thompson, speaking on behalf of the applicant, Strathearn Leisure, said: "This is the culmination of just over two years of work, working with everyone to get it going."

Although concerns were raised about the overcrowding of the village and excessive noise, letters of support noting the potential benefit of the increased tourist trade were also received from residents.

Seafield Caravan Park offers holidaymakers impressive sea views and easy access to the beach, making it ideal for family vacations.
