Silverburn park in Fife 'to be considered for caravan site'

Posted by Greg Throughton

Owners of home-from-home accessories and tools like a 12v television may be interested to know that a park in Fife, Scotland has received much interest from keen investors - some of whom have suggested it would make an excellent caravanning site.

Private investors interested in the scenic Silverburn Park location near Leven, which is a popular visitor attraction, have been invited to stake a claim on the site to ensure it has a solid financial future.

Fife Today reported that the council in the area has been trying to secure investment for the park for many years and it is only now that ideas of turning it into a camping site have arisen.

Peter Howden, Fife council's parks development manager, said there will be a period of assessment to review the details of what can be done to the site under private investment and that it will be important to get the opinions of local communities and businesses as well as other councillors before proceeding further.

As well as the suggestions that Silverburn be used for camping, other investors have urged that it be used for elderly projects.

The park is known for being a tranquil location and is situated on the east coast tourist route near Leven and Largo.
