South-east Cornwall is 'undiscovered gem'

Posted by Freddy Morton

People with Truma caravan water heaters and other caravan accessories have been advised they should visit south-east Cornwall if planning a staycation this year, with a number of different activities mooted.

A spokeswoman for historic local landmark and award-winning bed and breakfast Pentillie Castle said the area remains relatively unspoiled by the tourist trade.

She recommended the south-east coast path for any visitors who enjoy hiking and spectacular scenery, and pointed to Dartmoor and Essex as other scenic areas for holidaymakers to take in.

"There are plenty of wonderful National Trust properties within easy striking distance," added the spokeswoman.

Plymouth also offers a slightly more lively experience, with a number of bars and restaurants available, including the Horn of Plenty, Browns and River Cottage Canteen, while shopping and other kinds of entertainment can also be found in the maritime town.

Culture secretary Jeremy Hunt recently called on British people to take a staycation this year and enjoy the wide range of events happening across the country.
