Is it okay to defrost my Thetford fridge/freezer using a hair dryer, heat gun or boiling water?
When I am on holiday my Thetford Fridge does not work very well, what could be the problem?
Is there a way you can improve the performance of our Thetford fridge when we are in South Europe and very hot?
My Thetford Cassette Toilet C200CWE has just stop working. i can hear the click when i press the button on the toilet but it just stop flushing. i have open the cassette toilet door checked the fuse which is good, well tried to check the wiring. i cant seems to see the problem but it will not flush. I don't know how you get to the pump or even the water tank. can you please advise what i can do to check this out many thanks.

I Am Puzzled. I Have a Thetford C200CWE I Have Checked The Switch Part Number 23792 And Discovered It To Be Faulty. There Seems To Be Another Part 23771 Which Appears To Be a Replacement Bezel Which Seems To Includes The Switch Listed At a Lower Price??? Which One Should I Be Looking At. ???
Hi, i Have a Thetford 200CWE In My Elddis Crusader 2008, 1st Changed The Switch Just 6 Months Ago Due To It Not Working At All. That Sorted a Few Weeks Ago The Flush Was Intermittent And Slow/Reduced Water Flow, The Old Pump Was Removed And a New Pump Fitted But When The Switch Is Activated There Is Nothing Only The Click Of The Switch. The Pump Does Not Run. There Is Current To The Wiring To The Pump And To The Switch, The Fuse Is Good, And The Battery Shows That It Is Ok And Charging Well. The Pump Has Been Tested On a 12v Battery And It Whizzed Round, Could You Throw Any Light On This Pls. It Seams To Make No Sense As All Was Ok All But Sluggish Then As Soon As The Wiring Was Cut To Attach New Pump It Wont Work. Is There Something i'm Missing ?? Help ....... :-)

hi, i have a thetford 200CWE in my Abbey540 expression 2008, 1st changed the switch just 3 days ago due to it not working at all. that sorted a few mins later the flush stopped!! the old pump was removed and a new pump fitted but when the switch is activated there is nothing only the click of the switch. the pump does not run. there is no current to the wiring to the pump and to the switch, the fuse is good, and the battery shows that it is ok and charging well. the pump has been tested on a 12v battery and it whizzed round, could you throw any light on this pls. It seems to make no sense as all, was ok. then as soon as the wiring was cut to attach new pump it wont work. So I have new switch new pump all installed ans shrunk wrapped but still no current to switch or pump all fuses are good but no current to the switch the 12 volt cable seems to exit the unit and go behind the rear toilet wall so no help there, the book diagram states purple wire the colour into the pump is brown & blue in a black rubber casing have had van since ne and all has worked ok till I had service done and a new batt charger fitted and new water heater element, could the person fitting these have dislodge moved anything. just seems strange all new parts but no current HELP PLEASE! could take it back to service centre but it a bit far so thought I would try you first! We have Abbey Vogue 520 caravan. When we use gas fridge the carbon monoxide fumes blow back into the caravan and set off the alarm. Is this a fault with the flue or just caused by the wind. Annie
Thetford cassette toilet,, not sure of model but think it's a C2. under the toilet roll holder there is a small pump, and a 30 amp relay switch, these look like they do not submerge. To the pump there is a pipe from the onboard cold water tank. From the pump the pipe goes to a small one way valve, this I think goes in to the flush talk that holds the blue chemical flush.. My question is about this valve. Where does it sit in the tank ? The pump had a holding slot, the relay switch crews down, the flush pipe fits to the toilet bowl but I can not see a place or feel a place to fix this small valve back to even though it has a clip on one side and a shaped groove on the other, help please.
Hi I have recently purchased an elddis typhoon caravan 1985? it has thetford toilet in it with flush to the right and blade opener to the left as you look at the toilet the blade opener has stopped working and "cracks" when turning the round handle it looks like a c2 toilet ? but your diagram shows the blade tuner as a flush, mine are separate? any ideas thanks Jon

Also when I was investigating the problem I think I have inadvertently disconnected something else looks like (item 14 on the blown up diagram), how do I get inside to reconnect it.?
On my Thetford N150 Fridge freezer The blue light is flashing and its showing a spanner and code 1 error .I have read through all the bits and pieces that you have written and taken the lid off the power board and changed the 5amp fuse which was not blown and the 20amp which was also not blown but the blue light still flashes on the mains only. I HAVE A THETFORD CASSETTE C4 MANUAL FLUSH. IS IT POSSIBLE UP GRADE IT TO A ELECTRIC FLUSH ? IF SO WHAT FITTINGS ECT WOULD BE REQUIRD ? REGUARDS.
I have a problem with the electrics on my Swift Conqueror and if possible am seeking your comments please. There seems to be two related issues, one with the NE183-T56 in conjunction with a Thetford N112 fridge.
NE183-T56 with NE189 R1
With no vehicle connected all functions are OK. Panel show voltage 13.8 for van, zero for car which is correct.
If car is selected on the NE183 this causes the ALKO ATC to engage although no car is connected. Therefore, in some way the NE189 must be feeding current into the car-live circuits. Also panel then shows voltage for two batteries, van 13.6, car 13.9 although only the van battery is present!
After several minutes both panel lights (green & red) flash in unison.
Pressing van button causes a return a normal display.
Normally when the vehicle is connected and running the NE183 switches off. Connecting the vehicle now makes no difference.
The two relays in the NE189 appear to be solder-fit so presumably if faulty the panel has to be replaced.
Thetford N112 Fridge
Other than via earth, is there any interaction with the NE183?
Obviously there is a connection with the NE189 because of the fuse elements. Can a relay fault back-feed into the fridge circuit?
The fridge has a completely blank display (no current) and has no response to the on/off switch regardless whether the NE183 is on or off.
There is constant ticking which sounds like the igniter.
Although not turned on the ticking causes the LED awning light to flash in unison. Turning on the light causes the flashing to stop (light becomes constant) although ticking continues. This really foxes me because with the switch turned off the only cable to the light is the earth!
The low-voltage connector to the fridge show 13,7-volts but even with no car connected the heavy duty 12-volt circuit shows 0.4-volts.
Any comments or advice you can offer would be very much appreciated.

Wondered if anyone can help....our c2 thetford manual loo has been great, but this weekend I thought, drain time to avoid frost damage etc..Took the loo to empty it and had a stream of blue loo etc coming out of a hole in the tank body just next to the manual blade handle .I've brought it home to have a look and nothing has come adrift, just a rubber seal at bottom of hole but its straight through, like missing something or been punched through..If the loo is emptied when less than half full its no problems but wondered if i need a new cassette or can I buy a seal.....Cheers peeps.
Hi, I have a Thetford C200 flush toilet and water is running out of the inlet pipe at the top of the bowl into the main bowl even when it is not being flushed. Is the water coming directly from the inboard water tank. How do I fix this?
Hi, I have a Thetford C2 cassette toilet in my '96 Rockwood Premier pupup camper. The toilet hasn't flushed since before I bought it, and the previous guy used the shower water to put fluid in the bowl in order to flush. Today I folded the drain and fill spout out, disconnected the sight glass and drained almost a whole mop bucket worth of the foulest smelling blue liquid from the camper. I removed the toilet paper holder and pulled out the pump. Is the pump and electrical wiring supposed to be submerged in the blue liquid under the paper towel holder? Also, looking for the 3 amp fuse, I looked at the diagram online as well as the one in the manual (same diagram), and the fuse isn't there, but on the side of the switching mechanism i can see two little slots that look like a blade fuse would go there. When I try to put a 3 amp blade fuse in those two little slots, it just won't go in. Now, what I have is the bigger blade fuses that are used in the circuit panel in the camper, is that the correct fuse for the C2, or is it the smaller micro fuse that goes there? Thanks in advance.
I have a 2004 Sterling Europa 3.60. The fridge fitted a Thetford C11 model no. NBOEL R, does not operate on gas. There is a clicking sound when I press the ignition button.
My Thetford C2 wont flush the pump can be heard running but no water is passed to the bowl. Any ideas, could it be the sanitary fluid has solidified and blocked the pump supply tube.

Hi, I have a thetford S-CK13000 cooker the small burner will not stay alight, it lights while you hold in the control and press the igniter, but as soon as you release the control knob it shuts off. The other burners work fine and remain lit when the control is released. Any ideas on the problem ?
My thetford c200 holding tank is leaking from the blade opener. I have been told that I need a new tank as there is no replacement seal. can I replace the blade opener and rectify the problem.

Hi I have fault code 1 on my thetford fridge. I've downloaded a pdf file from thetford which tells me to check the 5 amp fuse. I can't locate this fuse? I've also checked the main fuse board for fridge on caravan and that's fine. Any Ideas?

Can you tell me where exactly is battery holder for thetford c-200 cwe waste level indicator. You have answered this question for someone saying it is just inside the door on left. I have looked and cannot find it. I can only see a cable with a 3 amp fuse. Help please!

I have a Thetford C2 and cannot remove the 2.5 Amp fuse to check it. Does it unscrew or just pull out. I am trying to check if pump is OK. When I press flush knob toilet lights dim slightly does this mean fuse is OK but pump is at fault.

Hi. I have a Thetford Cassette toilet in my Avondale Mayfly caravan. I think it might be a C2 model but I'm not sure. Perhaps you could advise me what the Mayfly was built with. Anyway, on the holding tank just by the switch (yellow top) that controls the opening of the flap there is a hole. On your download Thetford C2 C3 + C4 Holding Tank page (exploded parts) this hole is numbered #18 but it doesn't say what it's for. The hole on my tank is open and if I pick the (full) tank up vertically to go and empty it, the contents come out of this hole! Is there a bung of some sort that should be in this hole? Thetford Service Doors 3, 4,5 and 6 Mine is one of the above type and the lock appears to work and the door appears to be securely locked once the key is turned and removed . However if the top button is pressed the door springs open. Can you advise what the problem is.

Hi Tom I have a thetford N80 fridge which I am having trouble when switched to gas. I replaced the ignighter and the gas lights now but it wont stay lit. The flame indicator is showing a flame and there definately is a flame because i have checked with assistance. Immediately i let go of the gas knob the flame extinguishes and the flame indicator shows no flame. Do you think i need a new thermostat or a gas valve?

I have a thetford bench toilet electric flush in my caravan, the problem is at the back there is a plastic tube that goes from one side to the other into the toilet it is white plastic tube approx 10mm in diameter and runs full length of toilet there seems to be some kind of seal missing of either end thus water leaking, would you know what the solution is, cheers,?

Hi Tom, my thetford N175 fridge freezer has stopped working, the lcd display won't turn on. I've checked all the electrics and this is fine. I’ve tested the electric supply behind the fridge and this has power. I suspect there is a problem with the power board would you agree? and if so, how do I tell if its automatic or manual to purchase the correct board. Many Thanks
My thetford N112 caravan fridge LCD display keeps coming on and off with a spanner icon and fault code 12. The blue light flashes on and off meaning the fridge is not working. I’ve heard through forums that thetford fridges 2007/2008 year models had faults with the pcb. Any help would be appreciated regards Sue Graham.

I have abbey GT214 1990, on the side of the caravan by the Thetford door is a round thread like connection with a hole and two smaller holes could you tell what this is for. If it is for filling up the onboard water tank where would I find the part required for filling. Currently I’m filling it by hand.

hi tom could you tell me what the white wire is on the 12 volt side on a thetford 145 is having trouble wiring it up if i put it to red wire it blows fuse if i put it to black it blows yet there are only the three wires there it all works on gas and 230 volts confused.

About repairing Thetford c-400 holding tank: Can I simply remove circular plate (no. 5/5A in spare parts drawing) by twisting it left or right? I do not dare to take a chance because that might damage the original sealing or other parts.
