Anglesey Island named Britain's number one place to visit

Posted by Linda Davidson

Caravan refrigeration owners looking for an exciting break may wish to visit Anglesey Island, which has been named as the number one place to visit in 2011.

Simon Calder, of BBC TV and The Independent, named the island as his must-see destination for 2011 and said that people must make the effort to visit the area.

The region's top restaurants, attractions and events were also recently praised at the 2011 Anglesey Tourism Awards, according to the VisitWales blog.

It is expected that Anglesey will welcome large numbers of visitors celebrating the royal wedding this year, as it will be where Prince William and Kate Middleton initially spend their married life.

Visitors may also take a trip to Thomas Telford's famous Menai suspension bridge and Castle Beaumaris, a Unesco World Heritage Site.

Visit Britain recently conducted a poll, which identified that the number one reason for overseas visitors to come to Britain is to visit Welsh castles.
