Angus caravan park gets £1.25m facelift

Posted by Freddy Morton

A caravan park in Angus is to undergo a £1.25 million renovation, owners of Thetford caravan fridges have been told.

According to the Forfar Dispatch, the UK's leading caravanning organisation, the Caravan Club has brought forward a planned investment in Lochside Caravan Park, in Forfar, by three years.

In a statement, the Caravan Club said that extensive improvements, including the updating of facilities in the reception and amenity building, would be carried out in the coming winter to avoid unnecessary disruption.

It added that the investment in Lochside Caravan Park showed its commitment to Forfar and will bring the site up to the company's exacting standards.

"Having witnessed the beneficial effect of the club's involvement in the Lochside site during 2010, local businesses are now looking forward to sharing in the 35 per cent increase in visitor numbers projected for 2011," Ken Stewart, chairman of the Forfar Business Initiative, told the source.

In related news, organisers of the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival in Portstoy have decided to lease a caravan park in the seaside town.
