Be prepared for changeable weather

Posted by Linda Davidson

People with Propex caravan water heaters have been told to take care on the roads during the spring showers.

The Driving Instructors Association (DIA) said that heavy downpours are not just inconvenient, they also make driving conditions a lot more dangerous.

Intermittent thunder storms and showers are predicted to continue well into the week, with torrential rain expected for this evening (May 9th) and tomorrow across the UK.

Howard Redwood, head of road safety for DIAmond Advanced Motorists, warned those travelling on the roads that they need to be prepared for all kinds of conditions when they set out.

"Drivers have to adapt to the changing conditions and not simply drive to those that existed when their journey started. Driving blind is a highly dangerous and is often the cause of pile-ups," he urged.

Mr Redwood added that checking windscreen wipers and washer fluid as well as tyre tread before setting out will help caravan owners deal with the unpredictable weather.
