Owners of home-from-home accessories and equipment will be pleased to hear that the industry is going from strength to strength despite the current economic climate.
According to Out & About Live, the recent Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, a caravan show which took place last week, was incredibly popular and saw an unexpected increase in visitor numbers and better than expected sales figures.
This suggested that the year ahead could be a good one for the caravanning community.
It reported that there were 179,000 visitors at the event, a huge increase on the 160,000 expected, and 62 per cent of those in attendance went with the specific intention to buy something.
"Sales volume overall has risen considerably with a clear improvement in favour of motorhomes," said Giovanni Marcon, chairman of the board at Knaus Tabbert.
According to Sarah Long, spokesperson for VisitEngland, staycations are here to stay, a reason perhaps for the increase in interest in caravans.
