Caravan sales give Flintshire a boost

Posted by Freddy Morton

Static caravans are helping give Flintshire a boost, those in the market for Comet caravan taps were told.

Flintshire Tourism Association chairman John Les Tomos has recently launched an initiative to put the region on the map, the Flintshire Chronicle reported.

He explained that membership of the Association has increased by 300 per cent in the last year as the whole county works together.

Caravan roadshows and open days in Flintshire have led to an increase in people purchasing static caravans along the coast, with each sale contributing £6,000 a year to the local economy in the form of food, services and products.

"In 10 years I want to see small shops and rural pubs opening, not closing, I want the rural economy to be booming and for us all to be singing from the same hymn sheet," Mr Tomos told the source.

The popularity of caravanning and camping is thought to have increased due to the rise of staycationing among people in the UK.
