Caravanners urged to check conditions before travelling

Posted by Freddy Morton

Caravan refrigeration owners who are planning to take a caravan holiday in the next fortnight have been urged to check road conditions and weather forecasts as snow is predicted to fall across much of the UK in the coming days.

Vast areas of Scotland and north-east England have already been badly affected with many roads becoming impassable after heavy snowfall.

The Met Office has forecast further snowfall as arctic winds are predicted to bring snow to London and the south-east, with a further two weeks of extreme weather ahead.

Met Office chief forecaster, Andy Page, said: "Snow will also be a risk for many, and the public are advised to stay up to date with the forecast to make sure they have the latest information."

Caravanners have been urged to avoid unnecessary journeys, with the AA confirming that yesterday (November 29th) was the busiest day of the year so far and the organisation predicts that they will become busier as more snow falls in the UK.

The current period of extreme weather is the earliest widespread snowfall in the UK since 1993.
