Caravanners and those who own a Thetford caravan fridge enjoy a "richer way of life" with loved ones during their holidays, according to one expert.
A spokesperson from the Camping and Caravanning Club suggested the popularity of camping holidays is increasing due to the exciting new technologies of many motorhomes, the availability of products and also because of the special time spent with close friends and relatives.
Jon Dale, PR manager at the company, one of the leading site management authorities in the UK, said: "Camping and caravanning continues to be a popular pastime and we expect to build upon the success of 2011 by encouraging more people to enjoy the richer way of life by spending time with loved ones."
He added that time spent in the great outdoors is both nourishing and fun for all the family.
Furthermore, Mr Dale mentioned that caravan manufacturers are constantly trying to develop new and interesting products to keep in line with consumer expectations.
Richard Leafe, the Lake District National Park Authority chief executive, recently commented that he is hopeful for the caravanning industry's outlook for the coming year.
