Consult and engage with locals on caravan holiday

Posted by Freddy Morton

Motorhome owners whose vehicles feature caravan rooflights should not shy away from consulting and engaging with locals if they want to have a good holiday experience.

A vacation can be vastly improved by doing this, according to Simon Calder, travel editor of the Independent, who was speaking in the wake of recent research on British holidaying habits.

The study from Orlando Tourism suggested that only one fifth (21 per cent) of British travellers will bother to talk to locals during their overseas breaks.

Holidaymakers confess to only ever getting to see and experience around 42 per cent of local attractions and sites on a visit, caravanners keen on Heki caravan rooflights may be interested to hear.

Commenting, Mr Calder stated: "The first rule of any traveller is to ask, and if you do that people are generally very happy to help you."

The Post Office is asking those planning to take overseas driving trips to plan before they travel to avoid the petrol price hike in Europe.
