Lonely Planet urges Brits to make the most of their days off

Posted by Linda Davidson

Caravan taps owners have been urged by Lonely Planet to make the most of their days off after a survey revealed that the nation is wasting their precious time away from work.

The research, carried out by Lonely Planet, found that of the eight weekend days a month Brits are only having an average of two days out, with 28 per cent not having any at all.

A third of people who participated in the survey said they had gone on less outings this year compared with last year.

Lonely Planet spokesman Tom Hall, said: "We really want to encourage people to grab back their free time by offering a variety of inspiring, cheap and free things to do across the UK and Europe each week when they sign up to our Seize the Days e-newsletter."

He added that Lonely Planet's aim is to get more people enjoying the fantastic things that Britain has to offer, particularly local attractions.

Caravan taps owners looking to make the most of their next weekend may like to visit Bath as it hosts the Bach Festival form October 16th-17th.
