Yorkshire has a lot to offer visitors

Posted by Freddy Morton

Owners of Waeco caravan fridges have been encouraged to consider Bradford on their next excursion.

Peter Myers, area director for west Yorkshire, at Welcome to Yorkshire, said that the city has a booming tourist industry and a host of attractions which are well worth a visit.

He explained that the tourism industry in the city is worth around an annual £300 million and provides six per cent of the total number of visitors to Yorkshire.

"In terms of theatres, there is the Alhambra Theatre and St George's Hall. Both of which are really popular. In terms of museums, there is the National Media Museum, there is the Colour Museum and Bradford Industrial Museum," he said.

He added that the Bronte Parsonage Museum is incredibly popular with international tourists.

Just a short drive from Bradford, budding archaeologists can get their hands dirty at the single biggest excavation in York ever until July.
