Dublin is perfect for a romantic break

Posted by Greg Throughton

Owners of Comet caravan taps considering a romantic break should look no further than Dublin, it has been claimed.

Aoife Finnegan, spokesperson for Discoverireland.com, said that the history and culture of the city makes it ideal as a couple's retreat.

"You've got the restaurants off there and just strolling around Merrion Square, you can buy some art, or go into St Stevens Green, or take a pony and trap around the Green, or there are lovely little cosy pubs you can go in and have a pint or a hot whiskey," she said.

Alternatively if couples prefer a bit of nightlife, Ms Finnegan said that the city centre is always buzzing and there's a great choice of places to go to there.

If people want to get away from the city, just a short journey away from Dublin is Balcarrick Beach in Donabate.

This 3.4 kilometre sandy stretch was only formed in the last 25 to 30 years.
