Alan Dickens, a member of the Caravan Club, has told the Gazette News that while his organisation does not have any of its own camp sites in the region the area has a lot to offer visitors.
He also highlighted the huge amount of freedom that staying in a motor home can provide as opposed to more traditional methods of accommodation.
Mr Dickens said: "In a hotel, you have to eat when they want you to and I don't like to be beholden to that. In the caravan, you get to go and camp in some amazing places."
Earlier this month, publicity manager for the Camping and Caravanning Club Jon Dale highlighted the benefits that a British holiday can provide, claiming that they are sometimes underestimated despite their low cost and beauty.
