Caravanners invited to the Midlands this summer

Posted by Linda Davidson

Those who have fitted new caravan rooflights to their mobile homes in preparation for the peak summer holiday season will be spoilt for choice when it comes to where to take a break.

Staycations are becoming increasingly popular in the UK thanks to recent flight disruptions caused by British Airways strikes, the Icelandic volcano and a growing desire among Brits to discover what the nation has to offer.

According to Carol Rowntree Jones, media relations officer at the National Forest, the Midlands is one of the places worth checking out as there are plenty of staycation activities lined-up this summer.

Those whose caravans feature Heki rooflights or Remis rooflights may want to ensure they pack their bicycles as there is among other things, a new circular bike route waiting to be explored.

"Near there is a caravanning and camping site, so there are places to stay nearby. It's also easy to go and find other activities within the forest from there as well," explained Ms Rowntree Jones.
