Caravanning 'to remain popular choice in 2012'

Posted by Freddy Morton

People who own a Thetford caravan fridge may like to hear that the caravanning holiday is to remain a popular option in 2012.

According to a representative at the Camping and Caravanning Club, many UK destinations for campers are rising in popularity each year and this will continue for the next season.

Jon Dale, public relations manager at the organisation, which owns and manages 4,000 campsites in the UK and overseas, said: "Some of our most popular destinations include the Lake District, the Peak District and Derbyshire and the south-west of England during the school holidays."

He added that France is currently one of the most popular destinations for devices and accessories for your van owners seeking warmer climates.

The membership of the club is continually expanding and over the past three years it has seen a rapid expansion in the number of people opting for holidays in the UK, Mr Dale added.

Work to improve the sustainability of the club's sites is in constant motion and those which are deemed eco-friendly are recognised by the David Bellamy Conservation Awards.
